Staff were really kind and even refunded one of my nights that I couldn’t make due to horrible snow. Facilities were great and a nice Onsen.

Ryokan davvero molto carino, stanza grande , comoda e pulita. Personale gentile e disponibile. La posizione è davvero ottima e ci si può muovere a piedi per raggiungere parecchie attrazioni. Consigliato per un paio di notti a Kanazawa se si vuole provare l'esperienza in un tradizionale Riokan.

Questo Ryokan è un gioiellino dentro Kanazawa. Siamo state accolte dai proprietari (figlio e madre) con una gentilezza e una disponibilità incredibile. Abbiamo avuto subito alcune necessità (come riuscire a recuperare le nostre valigie dalla tappa precedente, che per un errore non erano ancora state consegnate), il proprietario si è messo immediatamente a disposizione riuscendo a sbloccare la situazione. La nostra era una camera privata e appena entrate siam state catapultate in un Giappone autentico e in un’esperienza unica! Dormire sul futon è stato rigenerante e incredibilmente comodo per noi. Siamo rimaste incantate e felicemente soddisfatte! Grazie ancora al proprietario per l’infinità disponibilità che ci ha dimostrato in diverse occasioni. Un luogo autentico, semplice, dove respirare tradizione e staccare completamente! Lo consiglio veramente!

Questa è la classica tipica pensione giapponese dove il proprietario è molto gentile e di aiuto per qualsiasi cosa. Noi avevamo la stanza grande con bagno privato e vista sul giardino interno. L'acqua fresca e il bollitore sono gratuiti, ha pure un bagno giapponese riservabile per la coppia. Tutto molto tipico: dormire sui futon, pavimento in bambu e le pareti di carta.

Very neat and clean place. The host Bungo was patient and detailed, provided recommendations to sightseeing spots and even helped me to reserve a visit that needed pre booking. I like his thoughtful touch of bookmarking the restaurants on the map and sharing them with guests.
The location was roughly 15min by foot to the station but it could also depend on the weather. Western showers available all hours and a private Japanese bath in the evening and nighttime slot. Close to the Omicho market and the castle park.
I tend to be someone that leaves behind something every place I go and they helped me to stop that. Thank you Bungo and the family!

For some reason I thought there would be a garden surrounding the ryokan, but not the property owner’s fault that I invented that haha. GREAT staff. GREAT stay. Loved it.

This ryokan has been in Bungo’s family for over 130 years. The amenities are clean and functional if dated. The service was fantastic—Bungo preemptively welcomed us to Kanazawa be way of detailed, helpful email. Upon checkin, he gave us a thorough tour and guidance around the facilities and even called a local restaurant to help us with reservations.
As a westerner, floor sleeping on a futon was a new experience. For those who won’t be comfortable with this, it’s probably best to reach out to Bungo to see what options they can offer.

A fabulous, quaint, traditional property in a superb location. The free hot bathing room privately available, was very enjoyable too. The proprietor was very attentive and helpful and you can tell he's rightly very proud to be Japanese. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say is we found the mattresses uncomfortable. That may be just our bodies, but we struggled.
