Abbiamo appena trascorso un paio di notti in questo B&B nel cuore della splendida campagna inglese. La casa conserva tutto il fascino della tipica vecchia casa di campagna inglese, con pavimento di legno che scricchiola (letto compreso) e mobili antichi. Il giardino intorno è stupendo e popolato da tanti simpatici gattini! La colazione è davvero molto curata, preparata ogni mattina dalla padrona di casa con scelta di pietanze sia dolci che salate (non manca la tipica english breakfast) e servita in una bella sala con una tavola apparecchiata con gusto. La camera era spaziosa, peccato per la moquette (che non amo particolarmente) e per l’odore persistente di chiuso tipico delle vecchie case con mobili antichi….anche tenendo la finestra sempre aperto non andava via. Il bagno era molto piccolo, senza un appoggio per suitecase o quant’altro. Infine, l’ospitalità della padrona di casa, a differenza di quanto letto in altre recensioni, non è per niente stata “calda e cordiale” come ci aspettavamo. Quindi il voto positivo va solamente al fascino indiscutibile della location non certo a chi vi abita.

Lovely rural location. Spacious nicely furnished room with views over farm. Hosts, Sarah and Richard, very pleasant and welcoming. Home cooked meals using local ingredients.

This is a beautiful place to stay! So unbelievably quiet and beautiful he scenery is gorgeous. The house is beautiful , and you are made to feel so welcome as you arrive. This is a 5 star place to stay! And the breakfast ? Well no wonder it has won awards it was amazing .
To wake up to beautiful scenery out of your bedroom window, cattle grazing in the fields , horses all around - rolling hills and the sound of birds is wonderful. I can’t wait to stay again.

We’ve just arrived home after a couple of nights spent at Smeaton Farm - and what a fabulous stay we had. We really can’t fault this B & B, Sarah and Richard really looked after us so well. Our room, Weeping Ash, was lovely, so clean and well organised, with the most amazing duel aspect windows looking over the gorgeous garden with the most incredible view over the valley. We were guests at a wedding nearby, but we were still able to enjoy the peace and tranquility of this beautiful farmhouse. The breakfasts were first class with so much choice, and so tasty. I love getting up at sunrise, so found myself sitting on the bench at the bottom of the garden looking at the view with 2 donkeys, a pony and I believe some alpacas, I was also joined by one of the very friendly cats. A truly wonderful start to my day Thank you both, what you offer is so precious.

Really enjoyed our night at Smeaton Farm, peaceful with beautiful views. Stayed just the one night after attending a nearby concert, just what we needed, warm welcome and good choice of breakfast items, made with quality ingredients, would recommend

A very nice B&B. Very friendly owners and fab breakfasts. Saucy a lovely property with wonderful views. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet getaway, but easy to get to surrounding atteactions

What a beautiful place to stay. The hosts were friendly and helped with our luggage. The facilities were good. The breakfast was excellent. There was a lovely sitting room available. Great variety of paintings and prints on all the walls. The decor was just how you imagine a farmhouse to be….. Quintessentially English!! The gardens were delightful and the whole experience a perfect ending to me showing my disabled friend who was visiting from Australia the delights of Cornwall. Thank you.
