Disappointed I was waiting to post this as we were told the manager would be reaching out to us, but he hasn't yet. We were so looking forward to our two night stay here. The room was a little unexpected, more rustic and less chic for the price, and definitely could hear everything in the ajoining room and outside. Everything went fine until our last dinner when we waited for over an hour to receive our food. We ordered two manhattans at the bar and were told there was no vermouth so instead received a different cocktail that was overly sweet. We ordered a salad, which never came and two burgers, both of which were cold and overcooked. We expected more from this restaurant given the reviews and actually cancelled a dinner at a different place just to enjoy our last night at the hotel. We were comped our food and bev, but the evening was spoiled. Staff was very apologetic saying that there was just one person in the kitchen. They were clearly short staffed and inexperienced on a Monday night. Our check-in was great, however, and the staff at that time was very experienced and kind.

Lovely facility but you have to be in the right mindset for the rooms- feed troughs for bathtubs, open showers, high set sink- definitely not cosy or free of sharp edges. We were there when it was cold- staff was lovely and food was good- breakfast a little over- rated we paid a fair amount extra for hard boiled eggs rather weak coffee and cheese cubes - the gardens with lemon and orange trees and palms and pools are gorgeous- water features, fire pits. In the right mind set a superb place but luxury definitely is a little rough-

The walls are so thin that you can hear everything! That means every single conversation while you are in your garden room and people are dining in the garden. You hear every single argument, bodily noise and conversation of your neighbors. The property is really stylish and cute but no amount of style can make up for not sleeping well.

Hidden gem in Palm Springs…MUST see! This place blew me away. It’s a very unassuming, small boutique property that has surprises around every corner. Book a stay here, you won’t be disappointed! I will definitely be back. A real gem in Palm Springs. Service, masseuse, & chef were stellar.

The sparrow was by far one of the best places I’ve stayed. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I really felt like a community. It was my girlfriend‘s birthday And they did a special champagne bottle and card when we entered our room. My girlfriend loved it, will definitely be staying there again.

My most recent stay at Sparrows lodge did not compare to my past stay and it was evident that the new management does not compare to the level of service and hospitality I had experienced in the past. From the moment my girlfriends an I walked up to the checkin desk, we knew something was missing, Colby's welcome. We were not greeted at the table and we were even rudely asked if we were "hotel guests". To that we answered "well yes, we are trying to check in." The first impression did not get much better from there as they did not have our dinner reservation that we had made earlier that week, our massage reservations were also not in "their system", they ran out of the welcome sangria..., they took 20 mins to tell us that they were out of the chicken mole dish we ordered, and when we finally made it to dinner the food took over an hour to come out. A few more disappointments: no misters by the pool, even though it was over 100 degrees, no returning guest gift, even though we know candles and hats were given in the past, and the breakfast was lacking with no eggs or salad that we had in the past. With all these disappointments, we may sadly rethink returning to sparrows lodge until they can return to the level of service and hospitality they had in the past.

I loved the layout of the property and the wonderful pool and hot tub! The food and drinks were amazing with a farm to table philosophy! Most of the staff were very kind and accommodating! Our favorite was Caroline, she checked us in and was so helpful. It has a very laid back feeling while also offering many luxuries. This was our first visit and we hope to have the pleasure to return sometime soon!
