I booked 2 rooms, both of which were excellent, very clean and beautifully furnished, recently fitted bathrooms with excellent facilities. The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, they made us feel very comfortable in the beautiful location. We really enjoyed our pre dinner drinks by the open fire in the guests lounge and learning about the history as we explored the building. Delicious food, we met the chef who checked our exact needs. We could not find any faults at all with our stay and it was terrific value. We would also say thank you for the personal extra messages from the owner with directions and checking that everything was satisfactory with our stay which I am delighted to say it was. The grounds are lovely and had we had more time and better weather would have explored more. If I come back to this area of Scotland, I will definitely rebook and cannot recommend this location enough. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Room was brilliant staff let me check in late left my key at reception for me, hands down best hotel experience I’ve had room was so lovely and felt very luxurious!

Beautiful, rural setting. Three hundred year old manor house now a lovely, boutique hotel. The young lad who checked us in, Will, was very helpful, and a great bar keep. Food was delicious. Overall, just a lovely stay.

The staff were super friendly, the room and surroundings were very comfortable. We had everything we required for a relalaxing stay. The food for breakfast was of an amazing quality and service was top notch.

A large room in a beautiful stately home, with a delicious evening meal and a hearty breakfast and excellent service from the staff.

On arrival we were very impressed by the location, set literally up a track in its own amazing grounds.
Booked in very quick and easy by Georgie, she was very polite and helpful.

It was a tricky place to find as the lane with a ‘temporary’ looking sign for hotel looked like a rough track. Not much parking unless using muddy tracks at side of the house. The entrance was very grand and beautiful but after that everything looked as if it was in the middle of a renovation. Biggest disappointment was our room which did not look at all like the pictures on website. It was down a corridor, up and down stairs, past recently plastered areas and open storage areas. It was clean but very small so it was difficult to open suitcase except on bed. It had some furniture in keeping with an old ‘stately’ house and then a modern cheap wardrobe with scratches on. The room was small and needed cracks caulking/ filling around the ceiling, window frame and sill. It was not as nice /comfortable as a Premier inn! The bathroom though was large (especially compared with the bedroom!) and lovely. The view was good but there was a smell of burning wood all through our stay coming in through the window gap which we discovered in a walk around the building was coming from a big bio burner. The food at dinner was extremely good - we had salmon and steak both excellent. The cooked breakfast was far too large with double everything including carbs ( 2 hash browns and 2 potato scones) so food was wasted. A smaller version offered would have been appreciated. The few staff all seemed very young but the service was good when they were at their posts.

Beautiful grounds, nice bar area, friendly staff, v comfy bed, delicious Scottish cooked breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

What a gem. Didnt know this place existed but so glad we found it.
Jennifer and Paige were superstars, full of smiles and very welcoming. Just what weneeded after a drive from Weymouth.
Food was very well presented and exceeded expectations.
Tranquil and expansive grounds for dogs to run around. No traffic.
Good for them.
We would recommend and will definitely go back.
