I needed a night's rest after a long ride to Deal and this hotel was the perfect place. The lady who welcomed me was very nice, the room was super clean, comfortable beds etc. A great place to stay at a very reasonable price; I highly recommend this hotel.

We have been coming to Deal for many years to visit family, and had become increasingly frustrated in the standard and prices of Hotels on offer in the town. So this time, decided on staying in a Guest House instead. We are so glad we did, the owners are lovely and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and enjoy your stay. There is so much attention to detail in the premises and everything is spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast too. We will definitely return.

We stayed for 3 nights this week. Mary (the host) is very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in Room 2 at the front of the property. Although it is on a main road we did not hear any road noise during our stay. Breakfast was delicious. Sunderland House is approximately 20 minutes walk to the Deal Seafront and High Street. There are plenty of cafes/restaurants and bars. Deal is delightful. We visited Dover Castle and Sandwich - a short distance by car to both. We hope to return.

Small and friendly b and b in Deal. Comfortable bed and room kept clean with provision of tea and coffee and fresh milk if needed.. Tasty Breakfast ordered each day and plenty provided when requested. Great to sit in garden in evening sunshine . Recommendations for dinner are Kings Head, 81 Beach Street, V Gastro Bar and Margheritas. Mary is perfect welcoming hostess in every way. Thank you for lovely few days away.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable room number 5. It has everything you could possibly want. A lot of thought went into what to put in the bedroom for their guests and thoughtful and tasteful throughout. Beautiful breakfast and Mary is so very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend Sutherland House.

We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room, which was superb, with every comfort provided, and immaculately clean. There was a small portable air conditioner, and a large fan that could blow hot or cold as required. Tea, coffee and chocolate, plus biscuits, are provided, plus hairdryer, trouser press, and even a shoe cleaning kit. WiFi is available if required. We slept well in the large comfortable bed, and enjoyed an excellent breakfast in the morning. We thought it was very good value for money and will certainly book here again if we return to Deal.

A beautiful guest house. We had a lovely stay. Everything was perfect. Stunning garden and the breakfast was excellent. The owners are so friendly. We will definitely be returning. A nice 15 minute into Deal town centre. Parking on site an added bonus.
