Booked here at the last minute after a long day working away from home. I Was greeted by Tania at the bar who was beyond helpful. After showing me to my room she went out her way to make me something to eat even though the kitchen was closed for the evening. I dont usually leave reviews but she is a real credit to the bar and cheered me up after a stressful day! Thanks Tania for making it a memorable booking.

One night stay here and it was pretty decent overall. Our first impression was that of concern but that quickly changed. Service at the hotel and bar was very good and we were well looked after. We didn’t eat breakfast so can’t comment on the food. Room was a very good size and well equipped with fridge, toaster, hair dryer with a very good over bath shower. My only concern was the price. At ￡180 for the night we stayed I think it was a bit pricy for what it was, although Peter Kay was in town and it was the Great North Run weekend so I assume they were hiked. If you were to get it at a better price I would certainly highly recommend. ￡10 in a taxi into town centre. We would stay again

Best place to stay in Newcastle! The staff are amazing, helpful, friendly and go above and beyond! Highly recommend the loaded fries, perfect to line the stomach before a night out on the toon! Great family fun day with loads on for the kids and a great party atmosphere in the evening! Loved the entertainment, the singer Paul was world class, he lifted the roof with his rendition of Mrs officer! Great place, can’t wait to go back!

Lovely clean cosy rooms, ours backed on the nature park so we had a beautiful view. Staff were amazing really helpful and knowledgeable. Had a full English breakfast then evening meals amazing was red Thai curry, and a beef dip- delicious! Photos on here were quite outdated so we were very surprised by how modern and vibrant the whole place was. Defo recommend!

We stayed for 4 nights, this was our second stay at the hotel. Hotel is absolutely spotless and rooms are very comfortable and well furnished. Food in the bar was excellent, the locals were so friendly. Everyone in the hotel were so friendly and helpful, would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

What can you say about this hotel, except its fantastic. The room was light and bright. Decor was lovely and so clean, couldn't find anything wrong. The manager and staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, they went out of their way to help. The food was lovely and as for the full English, it was brilliant and set you up for the day. I would stay again without and hesitation.

Been staying in The Sutherlands several times over the last ten years a bunch of submariners gathering for a reunion October every year. The staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming . The breakfast is of good quality and filling . This last weekend I found a microwave and small fridge in room 9 , a benefit if staying for a few days . Very clean rooms and in general the whole hotel is clean. John spencer

Lovely clean hotel, great breakfast and extremely friendly owners and management ! Stayed with a friend for a concert weekend away ! Christina n Alan made our stay ! Christina couldn’t have been more helpful with local knowledge and how we got where, how and when ! Thoroughly enjoyed our girly weekend and we will see you in December when we return to see Madness ??
