Friendly bed and breakfast with great hosts. Good location to explore the area. The hosts Julie and john can't do enough to help you and johns breakfast was really nice( and filling). Room was clean and tidy as was the communal area. Bar was relatively cheap and even let you run a tap for you're stay.would definitely go back again. Thanks to Julie and john for a great few days. ....... Andy and kerry

I've just been looking back on my Trip Advisor profile and we have been going to The Almar for 13 years ??, that tells you something. Fantastic 4 night stay with Julie & John, place was spotless as usual, John's breakfasts are superb. Met up again with some guests (now friends) that we see regularly at The Almar. Met some lovely new people too. Evenings in the bar are always fun. What else can I say about this place, it's just plain fantastic! Already booked for 2 more stays next year.

5 ?? all the way! From the warm & friendly welcome to the cleanliness & outstanding breakfast nothing was too much trouble for John & Julie. Well stocked bar at very reasonable prices & free tea, coffee, water, chocolate biscuits & so much more…………….. It’s certainly true what the complimentary key chain states ‘Arrive as guests, leave as friends’ Thank you for having us & we will see you soon xxx

Well this is the best place I have ever stayed in me and my partner have been going there for 8 years and have never had a bad stay john and julie are proper hoists and can never do enuf rooms all ways very clean and breakfast is top notch we visit 3 times a year for past 8 years and recomend to any one to go garrentee you will book again

Staying at The Almar is always an absolute joy!!! We have been staying at The Almar for the last 8 years, the rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. John and Julie are the perfect hosts and always makes everyone feel welcome. It's the perfect place to stay in Scarborough ??

John and Julie are the most welcoming couple. Nothing is to much trouble. The breakfast has a good choice to choose from and it is so delicious. We will definitely be back.

What a fabulous stay we had at the Almar Scarborough, Julie and John are a lovely couple who own the Almar,nothing is too much trouble,our room was spacious, very clean,the hospitality tray in our room was well stocked with bottled water,chocolate biscuits, tea,coffee etc,plus hot chocolate, also bathroom had everything you need,the breakfast was amazing,well cooked,well presented and large portions,we arrived has strangers,but left has friends.

The warmest of welcomes from the hosts, John and Julie. Our room had recently been refurbished, was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean, towels and linens crisp and fresh. Excellent choice at breakfast, which you do need to decide on the night before as everything is prepared and cooked to order the following morning. Well stocked bar at reasonable prices, which is a bonus when you've been out and about most of the day and just want to give your feet a rest in the evening. All in all, a very pleasant stay - it's no wonder that they have their "regulars" who go back time and time again. Can thoroughly recommend.

As always a great welcome from our hosts John & Julie, home from in this spotless b & b, breakfast 100% made with fresh quality ingredients, room comfy, bed comfy, great to have a bar to relax in, lovely quiet area what more could you want?
