My partner and I chose The Audemar for our anniversary. We spent the afternoon exploring The Fashion District then enjoyed an amazing dinner at Bottega Louie. The friendly staff surprised us with a small celebratory treat in our room which was such a lovely touch.
Came to LA to catch a show at the Crypto Arena and our stay at The Audemar made the trip even better. Before the concert, we grabbed bites and drinks at Lalas. The hotel was a perfect home base and super easy to get back to after the late set.
This was my first time in Los Angeles and I picked The Audemar because of its DTLA location and good reviews. I loved exploring the area and trying all the food stalls. The room was stylish and had a cool vibe to it. Carlos who is the hotel host was extremely friendly and helped me find a parking lot next door and also stored my luggage until check in time.
This was my 3rd time staying at The Audemar, mainly because it’s close to The Orpheum and check in is very simple. The hotel has made some nice changes recently and they provided drinking water in the lobby. We stayed again in the room with two king beds and a full kitchen, which gave us plenty of space. this is definitely the room we like.
This was a very comfortable place to stay while attending a nearby convention. The suite had plenty of space for both me and my coworker, which we really appreciated after long days on our feet. The staff went above and beyond, especially Carlos who took the time to share helpful suggestions about the area. Their hospitality made a big difference in our stay.
I stay here due to the proximity to The Orpheum Theatre. The area is still up and coming and may not be for everyone but I’ve never had an issue and it’s only been getting better every time I come since so many new restaurants are opening up on the block. This was my first time staying in the room with the full kitchen and 2 king beds and I really enjoyed the space for me and my family This will definitely be the room I book from now on.
Disappointing stay – big gap between image and reality
The Audemar does not live up to the expectations it sets through its marketing and ratings. The hotel is okay at best, but there is a major mismatch between how it presents itself and what it actually delivers.
The biggest issue was the noise. All four of us, staying in two separate rooms, struggled to sleep more than 3–4 hours per night. The street noise was so loud it felt like the windows were open—even though they were not. Noise from the room above sounded like a full dance party, and the noise from neighboring rooms was even worse. Despite the doors being locked, it often felt like the party was happening inside our room.
Because of this, the overwhelmingly positive reviews and high rating feel very disconnected from our experience and honestly made us question their authenticity.
The rooms themselves are very basic and poorly finished. The paintwork is sloppy, the bathrooms offer the bare minimum, and there were clear issues such as mold, bad lighting, and broken soap dispensers.
The main problem with this hotel is that it tries hard to be something it isn’t—a nice, modern, stylish boutique hotel. Unfortunately, that is not what it delivers. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and we would not stay here again.
Definitely wasn’t what was advertised. We weren’t in the actual Audemar building; we were in the lofts in an unlabeled building next door. The space was very dusty, the floor was not the polished wood in the pictures, just unfinished concrete. I had an anaphylactic reaction to one of the chemicals used to clean the space (red hives all over my body, throat swelled and I ended up in the hospital). I contacted them immediately following and they just took my money and said they’d change the lock for the next guest.
