We had a lovely stay and were made to feel extremely welcome. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. Walking distance from town and close to multi-storey carpark, which was useful. There was a great selection for breakfast and it was possible to choose what you wanted for a cooked breakfast. Fantastic, quirky stay with mugshots of criminals lining the walls and prison doors into rooms. Would definitely stay again

We had a wonderful overnight stay at The Black Hole, after visiting the Christmas market in Winchester. This hotel/B&B hybrid is delightfully quirky, and offers a real cosy charm. The room we stayed in was very clean and well appointed, to make our visit a comfortable and relaxing one. Breakfast was served in a lovely rustic setting, and was cooked to order, accompanied with cereals, fruits, yogurts and a fine assortment of hot and cold beverages. The venue itself is a 10-15 minute walk into the city centre, and we found it to be generally very quiet. Parking was in the multi story car park, which was a 5 minute walk, and worked out really well for us. I would also point out that the host was amazing, she was very friendly and made our stay all the more enjoyable. This will definitely be our go-to accommodation when next in the area!

Loved it! Stayed 2 nights at the Black Hole. Bed was super comfy, showered was great and we loved the prison theme. Emma gave us a lovely breakfast both mornings. You can help yourself to tea, coffee etc anytime. Distance to town centre was great as was the car park just down the road. Can highly recommend and we would return.

The B&B impressed from the moment we arrived. We checked in seamlessly and got a good rundown of the property and amenities from Emma. She also provided us with a wealth of information about Winchester including how best to reach the Christmas Market at the Cathedral. Our room was immaculate and well sized. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room/bathroom worked well. Our room was on the road, but noise was very minimal and we slept well. Breakfasts were very good, cooked to order, along with the ability to make toast, have cereal, fruit, etc. We took advantage of the 24 hour access to the dining area to make tea and coffee and visit with a friend traveling with us. The location is good, about 10-15 minutes to the Cathedral or High Street. We spent three very enjoyable nights here and highly recommend it.

We have stayed here twice now, once in the summer and this time, mid December. Both times the room was spotlessly clean and breakfast was an absolute 10 out of 10. Staff are polite and helpful and very hard working. We would recommend the Black Hole without hesitation.

We had a fabulous two-night stay with our Labrador, George. As soon as we arrived, our welcome set the tone for a great stay. The hotel team were super friendly to us and to George, the room was quirky and gorgeous and the full English breakfast was a delight. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Thank you so much for looking after us.

We were welcomed at reception in the Prison themed hotel and it was just a hallway but the rooms are all individually themed. Old Prison doors to each room and mug shots in all the walls make it more authentic. The rooms were very comfortable and our room was wallpapered to imitate wood panelling. It was very effective and we loved thx room. The dining room was available 24/7 and the morning fry up was absolutely delish. Definitely recommend anyone to stay here.

The black hole is only a short 5/7 minute walk from the city centre. The room we stayed in was very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, a wide selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt, bread etc, plus the cooked breakfast of your choice. Freshly squeezed orange juice was a bonus! The place was very clean, & the staff friendly & informative. My husband & I stayed for three nights. Excellent value for money
