What a lovely place, I have stayed in a few in Whitby but this one is by far the nicest, I loved our little room with its sofa on the top floor overlooking the church, clean, comfortable, modern, with a fridge and a double sofa, hairdryer, kettle, tea coffee and extras on the landing should you run out. Would really recommend this place and we will definitely stay here again. Thank you Captains lodge!

Ideal place to stay when visiting Whitby and surrounding areas. I booked a single room which was clean, comfortable and a two minute walk from the sea front, with lots of bars, restaurants, shops and cafes in a few minutes walk too. En suite with bath. Kettle and selection of drinks; towels, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body was and soap all supplied. Room only serviced on request, which suited me. Additional supplies and a selection of books on the landings outside rooms. Really nice place at a great price for location and time of year.

The bed was the comfortablist I have slept in (room 3) great location, heating had tripped (sorted very quickly) extra tea bags/coffee etc left on landing to help yourself , beautiful room, close to town, highly recommend this guest house,

Everything about the captains lodge is first class great location 10 minute walk into town views from the tops of the cliffs breathtaking Accommodation spotless clean and attention to detail will definitely return. If you are driving, I recommend that you buy the permit as parking could be difficult without one.

This is a lovely little guest house. The owners are friendly without being intrusive, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts are tasty and well cooked. The only drawback is the lack of a shower, but I knew about that before I booked so I can't really complain.

Excellent stay very close to all amenities, very clean and welcoming, comfortable room with a small fridge (great touch) and a new shower. Lovely friendly hosts, Angela and Rob were always pleasant and accommodating, and they served a great full English breakfast, happy to book again for nxt year. Thank you Captains Log

The Captains Lodge is a very cosy comfortable place to stay. I was staying for the Whitby Goth Weekend in a very comfortable clean and warm room. Angela and Rob are wonderful hosts, welcoming and so friendly. The hotel is great value for money. The accommodation is bed and breakfast, I am vegetarian so I went for spinach and mushroom with flaked parmisan cheese served with ciabitta toast, really tasty and inventive. There is cereal choices and full English breakfast as well. The hotel is ideally positioned for Gothic weekend with the Royal Hotel and the leisure centre where they hold the wgw markets, a short walk away. To get to centre of town it's down hill but uphill on the way back. Being that side of Whitby it quite and peaceful, I got a very good night's sleep. The view of St Hildas Church from the room is lovely.

Captains Lodge is very well situated for all amenities,Hosts where very pleasant and accommodating, very clean and comfy room had the best nights sleep Excellent breakfast. Would definitely recommend to friends and family

I enjoyed an excellent stay at The Captain's Lodge. I received a warm welcome, the bed was very comfortable and the vegan breakfast was tasty and filling. Great location. Wouldn't hesitate to return to this B&B.
