The room was spotless, Lisa was welcoming and helpful.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and milk in the fridge were provided.
The full english breakfast was perfect too.

Recently returned from yet another delighful stay with the lovely Lisa and Christoffe who are always so welcoming and hospitable. The level of accomodation is excellent and the standard of Christoffe's breakfast is always "par ecellence". Set in a prime location it is close to all facilities Torquay has to offer within a short walking distance. It is an ideal base to visit a number of destinations within the area such as Brixham, Dartmouth and many other places of interest. Already looking forward to our next visit and hope to be back in the very near future.
Owner is very accommodating. The room was a nice size and very comfortable. Also kept very clean. It’s also in a good position, very close to the seafront. It’s really all you could want from a b&b.
We have just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at The Charterhouse B&B and cannot wait to go back. On arrival Lisa gave us a lovely warm welcome and showed us to the Riviera room which was clean, spacious and has lovely sea views. The bed was very comfortable and the mini fridge with fresh milk is a great addition. Location of The Charterhouse is excellent. It’s a 5 minute walk to the local beach (Livermead sands) which if you time the tide right has some great rock pools to explore. A 20 min walk gets you to Abbey Park where there was a great funfair set up and we also had a couple of games at the Jungle Journey Adventure Crazy Golf course. A further 10 min walk and you are in the main harbour resort which has lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. We were also lucky enough to watch an amazing firework display during our stay which took place at Corbyn’s Head just a few minutes walk from The Charterhouse. An 18 minute walk in the other direction takes you through woods and alongside a stream to Cockington Country Park and village which is well worth a visit. The weather was glorious during our stay so we made good use of the pool and outdoor seating on the terrace and in the gardens. The cooked breakfasts were delicious, courtesy of Christophe, and Lisa was the perfect host making sure we were promptly provided with our tea, coffee and toast. The homemade jams were delicious too. We would 100% recommend a stay at The Charterhouse and will definitely be returning.
Very friendly owners who try and cater for your every need. Very comfortable room. A wide range of breakfasts are available, you just have to let the owners what you want the day before. Set in a quiet location yet near the restaurants in Torquay.i find it difficult to find anything to criticise. Would highly recommend.

A gem. Beautifully and tastefully furnished and decorated. Rooms are immaculately clean with lovely extra details. Gives it a 'boutique hotel' vibe. The gardens and pool area are lush. Would highly recommend the optional breakfast, don't think we could have found a better breakfast in Torquay. Great hosts. Loved it. Will definitely return.

I had the best time at Charterhouse, the owners are so lovely, warm, and welcoming. The room was cosy, comfortable, and clean, there's also a mini fridge, which was really handy. Breakfast is delicious with a great selection. The coast is a 5-minute walk away as well as pretty country trails. If you just want to relax, Charterhouse has lots of spaces to do so, and the added bonus of a pool. Cannot recommend highly enough, and I look forward to my next visit.
We stayed in the small bedroom which was clean and comfortable. The en-suite was a decent size with complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was nice, quality food, presented well. You have to pre-order your cooked and baked foods the day before, I found this a negative because on waking up the next morning I was craving a pastry but unfortunately there weren’t any prepared as I hadn’t ordered them the day before. Lisa was lovely and friendly and would probably have gone to the trouble of baking some but I didn’t put her under any pressure to do so. I totally understand the need for the preorder but it’s difficult to know what you fancy to eat the day before. There was a parking space available for us to use during our stay.
