Brilliant food, the best Steak and Ale Pie I have had in Windermere. The place was very busy which made ordering a bit difficult as the guy at the bar couldn't hear us that well. Would definitely come back for the food.

Great location , service could be a little better , check in is not smooth ,place was closed for luggage drop off No car parking near by Needed some attention on the cleaning of carpets , towels a bit grubby ( feed back for owners ) Otherwise it’s good a little over priced

Superb clean and tidy rooms. Beautifully decorated and bed was really comfy. Slept like a log Top rate breakfast. All round great atmosphere with very helpful staff and good ales in bar. I would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend to others.

Great location right in the heart of Windermere. The room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. Various choices available. We didnt eat in the bar but it was obvious those who did thoroughly enjoyed theirs. The staff were really friendly and couldnt do enough for you, very efficient. The landlady! What can i say! I have never seen anybody as hardworking. She deserves a medal she was always doing something but was never too busy to help if needed. Very enjoyable stay. Thankyou all.

I was here for a few nights and it was an absolute pleasure! Room was clean and cosy, food delicious, great location to be in, amazing atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and welcoming! Would definitely stay again!

Enjoyed a drink in here on our holiday. But surely there should have been more than one member of bar staff on shift, and ￡10 for a salad? No thanks! Enjoyed my beer but I don’t think I’ll be back for food! Over priced food, not a lot of options and a shame for what it could be.

We had a most enjoyable and restful stay at the Elleray. The Room was to a great standard and exceptionally clean. We were greeted by a lovely lady who helped us and gave us lots of local useful information. The breakfast was first class and the evening meal and pale ale was delightful! The local lakes pink gin my wife thoroughly enjoyed. Such a friendly team of people! We look forward to visiting again soon.

We stayed for 5 nights in Room 2 at The Elleray and had a lovely time! The weather wasn’t at its best and both needing a rest we spent a lot more time in our room than originally planned but thankfully found it very clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities (water, tea, biscuits etc.) and a smart TV for Netflixing of an evening! Breakfast was lovely and the B&B is located very well for access to plenty of beauty spots and eateries (we especially enjoyed ambling around Ambleside and snacking on gingerbread in Grasmere) - there is no parking however we parked at the bottom of town (a 5 minute walk) each evening without issue. The host , Caz, was clearly very hardworking and was always incredibly friendly, attentive and accommodating to our needs - even when we did have to wake her up early of a morning! We were also pleased to find out she kept a table reserved in the pub for B&B guests, which allowed us to grab a drink and tasty bite to eat in the popular pub on a Friday eve! Definitely recommend to those looking for a cosy and comfortable stay in Windermere.
