The Fielding’s bed & breakfast establishment is ideally situated at 35 Treyew Rd, Truro, Cornwall, TR1 2BY. It is approx. 20 minutes from the train station, and is walkable to the town centre. The property is an old fashioned furnished property with dark furniture and lots of nick naks & books around everywhere. On arrival there was nobody to greet us, so we hung around for a few minutes then decided to ring the phone number we had. The office phone rang but nobody answered, so we looked around and found a mobile number and rang that. We spoke with Mike on the phone who told us to give him 5 minutes as he had gone to pick his wife and her friend up from town. Mike arrived back and showed us to our room which was on the first floor, overlooking the back of the property. He showed us his welcome pack, which explained about breakfast, Wi-Fi, In an emergency and about the bedrooms. He also mentioned that the front door is locked at around 10:30 but we did have a key alongside our bedroom key so we could get in if we got back late, which we did on one of the evenings. Breakfast: is a continental breakfast, it is served in between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. it consists of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, toast (white or brown) plus cereals (cornflakes, wheat biscuits, malt wheats, fruit & fibre or granola), You also have a choice of orange juice, prunes & grapefruit. The fruit bowl consists of bananas, apples, kiwi fruit & oranges, also available were grapes, croissants choc chip brioche rolls cheese, ham, yoghurt and cherry tomatoes. The Fieldings also offer a breakfast brunch box which is delivered outside your bedroom door before 6:00 a.m. you have a choice of either a Gregs sausage roll or One roll (choice of fillings: ham, tomato, cheese, marmite, peanut butter, marmalade or jam), a cereal bar, pastry, orange or apple drink. For this you need to order before 8:00 p.m. the night before. We cannot comment on the breakfast as it was served too late for us, and we did not like the choices (we prefer a full English cooked breakfast when we are on holiday) so we made other arrangements for breakfast. (McDonalds is not too far away). Wi-Fi/Internet: Mike showed us what the internet log on details were and the password, which is also explained in the welcome pack. We tried numerous times to log on to the Wi-fi using the details from the welcome pack but without any success. I did go down stairs to Mike and asked him about it, he came to our room and tried doing it himself which again it would not connect, he did say that he had not know of any issues in this room before with connecting to the Wi-fi, so we must have just been unlucky, Mike suggested going nearer the router which we did (downstairs in kitchen area), when we went to the kitchen near the router it did connect but by the time I had got back to the room it had dropped out again. You may find it difficult to connect to the Wi-fi as the details in the welcome pack for the Wi-fi/internet is inco

The Fieldings è un buon b&b a Truro non troppo distante dalla stazione (10/15 minuti a piedi); è più comodo raggiungerlo se si è in auto in quanto lungo la Treyew Rd A390 dove incrocia Chapel Hill. La struttura è una tipica casa vittoriana in perfetto stile inglese, con tanti oggetti che raccontano la storia di chi l'ha abitata. Attualmente gestita, e abitata, da due gentilissimi signori. Mike è stato molto gentile a darci consigli su come raggiungere agevolmente il centro città e ci ha consigliato un ottimo pub (County Arms). Le stanze sono spaziose (avevamo una tripla) con un bagnetto interno, e un bagno fuori dalla camera dedicato solo a noi. Probabilmente perchè eravamo gli unici ospiti della struttura, altrimenti il bagno sarebbe stato condiviso. Le stanze andrebbero un po' svecchiate, però è quello che ci si può aspettare da un b&b in stile inglese. La colazione, servita in una bellissima sala piena di ricordi di famiglia; caffè, the e latte vengono portati a richiesta in base a cosa si desidera mangiare; poi ci sono cereali, frutta, macedonia, socco di frutta e un po' di affettati; anche se pane tostato, burro e marmellata restano un classico. Ho trovato il prezzo molto convenente (100 euro ca. a notte in 3 persone);forse in un periodo diverso il prezzo potrebbe salire (noi eravamo lì per due notti a fine aprile, primi di maggio). Unico aspetto che, per come avevamo organizzato noi il viaggio (eravamo in treno) è la posizione che, anche se non troppo distante dalla stazione, il navigatore ci ha fatto fare un tratto in salita non troppo agevole da percorrere con le valigie. Consiglio quindi di scegliere il percorso auto anche se siete a piedi. Non posso che consigliare questa struttura se volete visitare Truro o tenerla come punto di appoggio per spostarvi nelle cittadine vicine della Cornovaglia.
