We had a wonderful two night stay at The Haven. This beautiful property is centrally located within Windemere Village a few steps from restaurants, shops and transport. Catherine was a very attentive host who ensured our stay was perfect. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was like a fine dining experience with a good variety of hot and cold dishes, cooked to order. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend The Haven.

We stayed at this guest house from Monday 12th August to Friday 16th August. We found Catherine was an excellent hostess. She explained everything we needed to know on arrival and was able to advise us about places where we could get an evening meal. The breakfast was great with options for a cooked breakfast as well as cereals, toast, yogurt and fruit. This guest house is in an excellent location for the train station and local bus station. It is approximately a 25 minute walk to Bowness on Windermere where there are plenty of shops and restaurants available. We will definitely return to this guest house again.

Close to the train station, bus interchange, a variety of shops and restaurants The Haven is very well placed. The rooms are sumptuous, spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean, perfect to relax in. My room had a small electric kettle and a teapot, a well stocked drawer of tea, coffee and biscuits, sugars and milk. There were also dressing gowns and slippers as well as a hairdryer for use in the wardrobe. In the bathroom plenty of soft white towels and toiletries waited. The bed was very comfy and there was a lovely extra quilt should you get cold. There was also a tv in the room as well as a number of chairs and the stool before the dressing table and mirror. A clever breakfast request sheet enabled an efficient and personalised service in the morning. There are a number of options for timings as well as what food and drink you want. All the food provided was delicious. Alongside any ordered food there were also a number of options freely available such as cereals, yogurts, toast and fruit. The hosts are lovely too and happy to help out in any way they can. I definitely recommend this place if staying in the lakes!

Returned home last week after a three-night stay at The Haven where Katherine couldn't have been more welcoming. We stayed in the King Room which was very comfortable - a great night's sleep before a tasty breakfast. The Haven is in a good location, close to restaurants, pubs and shops and only a mile from Bowness.

The Haven is a wonderful place to stay while exploring the Lakes. Catherine was the perfect host and her B&B is absolutely lovely. Great breakfast, fresh tea/coffee, full English, vegetarian option, cereals, yogurt, toast, fresh fruit. The Haven is spotlessly clean and our room was really nice with a very comfortable bed, fluffy white towels and the building was warm and cosy! Close to restaurants and bars and a nice downhill walk to the lake. We will definitely stay here when we next visit Windermere.

The Haven is close to everything you might need in Windermere and just a short walk to Windermere Station (I took a taxi downhill to The Haven but walked my suitcase back to the station at the end of my stay). While many have warned that Windermere is not Bowness on Windermere, the twenty minute walk to and from the lake is pleasant and I had no trouble catching a bus back from the ferries. My room had a comfy bed, a desk and a small table with chairs which overlooked the street. The clean and light bathroom had the easiest hot water / shower system I encountered on this trip (I seem to spend a lot of time puzzling over taps and hoses and buttons at most places I stay, so this was a relief). Warm weather meant the room stayed warm at night - probably good in winter and not a problem for this Australian. Catherine, the host, provided a lovely breakfast each morning (salmon and eggs, porridge for me) and gave good information and practical help to guests who asked. Thank you for a relaxing stay!

"The Haven" è un B&B piccolo, ma assolutamente delizioso. Catherine è una padrona di casa perfetta e ha curato le stanze in ogni dettaglio. Il soggiorno presso "The Haven" è stato assolutamente perfetto ed è andato ben oltre le aspettative... La camera era spaziosa e confortevole, dotata di ogni cosa potesse servire (incluso accappatoio con ciabatte). La pulizia impeccabile e l'arredamento curato in ogni particolare. La colazione ottima, con una buona scelta di menù alla carta e un piccolo buffet. Catherine è comunque disponibile ad accontentare i suoi ospiti anche con richieste particolari. Windermere e "The Haven" sono senza dubbio la base ideale per esplorare la magnifica regione dei laghi. La stazione dei treni è a pochi minuti a piedi, così come la maggior parte di ristoranti, pub e negozi tipici. La cittadina di Windermere è ben collegata ai principali luoghi d'interesse della zona grazie a un'efficiente rete di trasporto pubblico.

Lovely room with everything we needed. Full English breakfast was top quality. Excellent location with pubs, restaurants and shops all within a few minutes walk. A warm and hospitable welcome. By God the bin collectors start early! Hope to return soon.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. The room was tastefully furnished and decorated and extremely clean with a lovely bathroom. The location was perfect. Our host Catherine was lovely and her breakfasts were delicious, we would difintely like to stay again next time we visit the lakes. Thank you.
