I had a wonderful stay at Majlis with my bestie. Majlis is a perfect blend of beauty, effortless luxury, cultural charm and exceptional customer service. The photos do it justice, but you have to be there to experience its magnificence. The atmosphere was calm, serene and relaxing making it a perfect spot to unwind; which is what we were looking for. The sunsets are gorgeous??. The food is amazing and the portions generous. The true soul of Majlis is the staff. Their customer service is a chef's kiss to the whole experience. Heartfelt gratitude to the team that decorated our room on short notice. The personalized card was really thoughtful and sweet??; I appreciate it??. Special thanks to Hamisi and Martins and the Umi restaurant team (we were always the last to leave Umi and you were always kind), Brian from Mediterranean restaurant, Alfred and Florence from Breeze restaurant (y'all had great recommendations during our dinners), Captain Baki who was our guide during Kayaking and was very patient with us, Samwel from Infinity pool who helped to take amazing photos and videos of us, Florence and Bonny from guest relations who were amazing and Wanjiru from reservations who was very helpful when I was making inquiries together with Mourine and Lawrence; they made the reservation process seamless.

We didn‘t stay at the Majlis but wanted to check it out and took a boat over from Shela to go for a walk on the beautiful beach, have lunch and go for a swim. We loved our little excursion - the restaurant staff was very welcoming and the food delicious. The beach is beautiful and you can walk out quite far during low tide. It was perfect for swimming, too and our dhow for the evening cruise picked us up there after which was perfect. The only big issue we encountered were sandflies around the sunbeds above the beach. Within 10 minutes I got bitten more than 30 times and dealt with the after effects for the next 3 weeks, really unpleasant. I did some research after and apparently it‘s a problem in Manda island. So beware and protect yourself well if you attract them easily…

Humidity and the team were exceptional. The food is not just tasty but also beautifully served. The stay at Majlis was heaven on earth. The staff is very friendly and always ready to assist in all ways . The hotel rooms are so beautiful and cool. What i loved most is the service here. God bless Majlis and all it's people

I went on a solo trip to celebrate my birthday. I really enjoyed my stay. The stuff in the entire hotel were super friendly, very respectful and ready to give assistance.Also, I really enjoyed food at the Umi restaurant… I frequently went there and was served by a waiter called Martin. He was very welcoming and warm. He made my stay much fun, plus he is very helpful in giving nice food suggestions.. I loved it all. I have no complaints about anything. I had so much fun. I’ll definitely go back to Majlis.

Friends! If you are looking for a place to unwind, unplug, reset, make memories, heal, remember yourself, some sprinkling of all the above, I cannot recommend The Majlis Resort emphatically enough. Three generations of my family found a home here for a few nights and we couldn’t have had a better time if we tried. From the rooms, to the compound, to the amenities and activity offerings, everything was immaculately maintained, well-equipped and tastefully designed. And we ate like royalty! Most importantly, everyone was so pleasant, thoughtful and professional and met us with smiles and a gentle greeting or offer of help. I had such a serenely wonderful stay. Thank you Majlis!

We loved that it’s beachfront, which isn’t something many stays in Lamu offer. Being on Manda also made it feel more peaceful and serene compared to other islands. The food is incredible, especially the seafood. There was a complementary activity included with the stay, but due to a lot of miscommunication from the staff, we ended up missing out on it. Because of this, it didn’t really feel like we got full value for what was offered.

Wij willen al het personeel bedanken voor de fantastische service, vriendelijkheid. Met name de swimmingpool boy Ibrahim, die een super de super service gaf en zorgde voor een schone omgeving/zwembad evenals de roomservice/cleaning men Peter en Said. De villa’s zijn zeer smaakvol en ruimtelijk ingericht, zoals De kunst ,die overal hangt . Het Japanse restaurant was onze favoriet , goede koks maar dat telt ook voor de andere restaurants. Met andere woorden:”een aanrader ”, enjoy the top hospitality service Fam.Vos

Das The Majlis liegt wundersch?n in einem üppigen Garten mit traumhaften Blick auf Lamu Island, ist überall sehr gepflegt und hat einen riesigen Pool, in dem man nicht nur plantschen, sondern auch schwimmen kann. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und humorvoll - die Kommunikation war durchweg effizient und hat Spa? gemacht. Besonders hervorheben m?chte ich das kompetente Team an der Rezeption. Aber auch das neue Spa und das Activity Centre haben einwandfreie Leistungen angeboten. Gerade die Vielfalt an bestens organisierten Aktivit?ten war beeindruckend für ein Hotel dieser Gr??e und hat viele einzigartige Erlebnisse erm?glicht, die mir lange in Erinnerung bleiben werden. Leider bieten die Zimmer nicht alle die Qualit?t: W?hrend das ursprüngliche Ferienhaus der Eigentümer sehr individuell, geschmackvoll und aufwendig eingerichtet ist (wirklich ein Traum im Suaheli-Stil - nach einer Nacht im Neubau konnte ich glücklicherweise dort einziehen), pr?sentieren sich die Zimmer in den neueren Geb?uden doch eher pragmatisch und in einer gew?hnlicheren Hoteloptik. Es verwundert, dort als Deko seltsame Gem?lde mit südamerikanischen Faultieren vorzufinden... Auch sind diese Zimmer hellh?rig: Man h?rt jeden Schritt, jedes Wort selbst von den Fluren im oberen Stockwerk. Dass die Zimmer mit gro?en Holzriegeln und Vorh?ngeschl?ssern geschlossen werden, erzeugt morgens und abends eine beeindruckende Ger?uschkulisse. Die Qualit?t der Restaurants schwankt: Das mediterrane Restaurant bot teilweise feine, gut zubereitete und ansprechend pr?sentierte Speisen, für mittags war das asiatische Restaurant ok. Entt?uschend war dagegen das Frühstück (vgl. ?hnlich lautende Reviews auf Tripadvisor): Die Optik, Zusammenstellung und Qualit?t waren einem Hotel dieser Kategorie nicht angemessen (nur eine Marmelade, unreife Früchte, kein Müsli, Kaffee aus Plastikkannen usw.). Die bahnhofsgleiche Atmosph?re im riesigen Hauptrestaurant hat es sicherlich nicht besser gemacht. All das war jedoch verzeihbar und kein echtes Hindernis für eine gute, erholsame Zeit im The Majlis. Das gilt jedoch nicht für das Verhalten mancher G?ste: Das Hotel scheint bei Gruppen und Gro?familien sehr beliebt zu sein, die sich am Pool, am Strand und in den Restaurants wie in einer Privatvilla verhalten, d.h. es herrscht ein teils enormer L?rmpegel und die Kinder toben v?llig ohne Aufsicht wild herum. Viele Mitarbeiter haben dies als Problem erkannt und zeigten Verst?ndnis gegenüber den Beschwerden erholsuchender G?ste, waren aber gegenüber der selbstbewussten Kundschaft letztlich machtlos. Leider hat sich der General Manager überhaupt nicht darum gekümmert, d.h. die überforderten Mitarbeiter und anderen G?ste wurden nicht unterstützt. Das war sehr bedauerlich. Insgesamt ist das The Majlis durchaus zu empfehlen, wenn die Restaurants ihr Niveau noch etwas verbessern k?nnten und wenn das Management künftig dafür Sorge tr?gt, dass Familien und Gruppen von Erwachsenen das Bedürfnis anderer
