Lovely overnight stay at The Old Rectory. Only 10 minutes drive from Deal, beautiful peaceful setting just as advertised. Room was spacious, bed was cosy and the owners couldn't do more to make you feel welcome, highly recommend and thank you :)

I contacted the Old Rectory directly to obtain the best price for a double room and full English breakfast for 2 nights. Located close enough to Deal, Dover and Walmer to visit the 3 castles, but far enough away to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside and dark night skies. I chose the Polo Room in the converted coach house. A great sized room, tastefully decorated with a polo theme. Really comfortable bed, so my husband and I benefitted from 2 peaceful, quiet nights sleep. Hot drench shower in a large cubicle in the en-suite to prepare for our busy weekend. A heated towel rail to warm and dry our towels. Helga, our hostess, was extremely welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. I had requested skimmed milk for my coffee in advance which she provided, and decaffeinated coffee for the bedroom. Ground decaffeinated coffee plus a cafetière was promptly presented to me. What service! The breakfast in the Old Rectory dining room was excellent. Fresh fruit, yoghurts, a selection of cereals, fruit juice, croissants, white and whole meal toast, jams and marmalade. My husband had a full English breakfast and I had scrambled eggs plus mushrooms. Perfectly cooked to order on hot plates. Cafetière coffee plus my skimmed milk. My husband was offered a hot cross bun, toasted, to finish, which he eagerly accepted-a St. Clement’s! Helga’s hospitality could not be faulted. An amazing Grade II listed building in a conservation area- what a wonderful experience in such a treasured environment. Thank you Helga for such a fantastic weekend in your home.

Recently stayed here on a visit to Kent for a friends birthday, the place we usually stay at was full, so found this online, after a few hours travelling, and hitting a bit of friday evening traffic, we were met by the lovely host, who promptly showed us to our room, which was fantastic, and had every conceivable item you could possibly need!!! We were in the room in the coach house outside, which was very smart, the room was very warm, and a great shower room, tv, kettle etc. After a very peaceful nights rest, we walked across to the main house, and enjoyed a fabulous breakfast in the old dining room, all beautifully laid up, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, pastries, fresh coffee, and a delicious breakfast, I would definetely return to this establishment, and would recommend it highly, a great find !

Stunning individual rooms were a welcome sight when we arrived after a long drive. The stay was further enhanced by the fantastic Helga who has over 40 years knowledge of the area and who shared her gorgeous home and local recommendations for places to visit and dine. The accommodation was special, individual rooms across the courtyard offered us everything we needed, privacy , big comfortable beds, coffee machine and tea making facilities and en suite shower rooms We were made so welcome. The breakfast is amazing, local produce , great quality and filled us up for the day. Thoroughly recommended and we will go back again as soon as we can.

We stayed here for a few nights and really enjoyed our time here. Lovely house and gardens located very close to Deal and the coast. The owner, Helga was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable giving advice about places to visit and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was superb as well. The room (Blue room) was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, highly recommended !

The Old Rectory is a lovely place to stay, close enough to the gusto and bustle of Deal but far away enough to be peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was also fantastic and the host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Wow, what a magnificent 4 night stay. There was nothing I didn't like, wonderful welcome, excellent room in the Coach House with a large bed, large shower (and simple to use!) with large towels, coffee machine, very comfortable bed/pillows. The breakfast consisted of real tasting oranges in the orange juice, fruits, yoghurts, cereal, large percolated coffee, waffles, fresh toast, that remained as toast not as soggy bread, and the full range of a cooked 'English' - wonderful. This is our assessment of The Old Rectory, maybe others have other ideas, but to my partner and I, our stay could not have been made any better. The Old Rectory sits midway between Royal Cinque Ports and Royal St Georges so ideal both for golfers and non golfers as there is so much to see in Deal, Sandwich, Walmer and surrounding countryside. PS The Old Rectory has a very interesting history going back many hundreds of years, so if interested, just ask.

I felt like I was in a 5 star West End Hotel! Luxurious furnishings and exceptional service. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean and the bathroom had a very good use of space. The Rectory is set in a beautiful piece of countryside and has night time visits by badgers! Adjacent is a wonderfully old historic Church and from the Church Yard there are lovely walks into the countryside. Breakfast is in another lovely room and the communal table gives yo the opportunity to learn what your fellow guests are getting up to and swap stories about local restaurants. There is a huge front space and parking is very easy. A place I will most definitely return to.

My wife and I have just arrived home from a 2 night stay at this fantastic place. We was greeted by our host Helga and she is a truly amazing woman who is a font of knowledge on the area and history of the old rectory. We stayed in the polo room which is one if 2 rooms in a converted coach house opposite the main house. The room has some original features with a touch modern but done to a very high level. We slept so well in our super king-size bed because of the lack of noise. Breakfast was in the main dining room in the Old rectory which is steeped with history and wow it was delicious, from fresh fruit cereal and yougut to a amazing full English. All served up by our amazing host Helga. Thankyou for a truly amazing weekend The Old Rectory
