Dear guest, we're really sorry for the problems you experienced. The Osborne and Little is one of the most popular rooms in our hotel, facing the city museum square. The room facing the cathedral green is the Zofffany room, adjacent to the Osborne room. These two rooms are sold together in the same category on third-party online travel agents. To ensure you secure your preferred room please always book direct with the hotel. One of the advantages of being situated in the city centre is our close proximity to local amenities and attractions, such as the Great Hall and the cathedral. However this does mean that from time to time guests will experience noise as the city wakes in the morning. It's frustrating but we cannot be held responsible for when the council decides to clean streets and empty bins. We have added secondary glazing to this room to minimise any potential for disturbance, and there are also ear plugs provided in the guest amenities. Thank you for pointing out the housekeeping and maintenance issues. I am surprised to hear about the poor standard of cleaning - this is not something I am used to hearing. I have already passed on your comments to the housekeeping team. The bathroom does need some maintenance to the walls and windows - it has already been scheduled for repair once the busy summer season has come to a close. We will do what we can to make a temporary fix in the meantime. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the breakfast and friendly service. Once again, I am sorry for the problems you experienced - as you can see from the hundreds of positive reviews of our hotel this is an unusual occurrence.
