Mixed experience
Pros : pleasant staff, comfortable bed, fresh fruit and croissants at breakfast, good location
Cons: no WiFi in room, no cleaning of room, room very noisy in afternoon & evening from music in the pub below
Went here for drinks a few times during a short stay in Bembridge. Nice spot, got lucky to be able to sit outside in the sun with a cheap drink. Service was quick. There is a pool table and dart board inside for those who want entertainment. Close to beach.
Hospitable
On arrival the pub was shut, doesn’t open Mondays, had I have realised I wouldn’t have booked here. You are sent details to let yourself in, the area you let yourself in doesn’t do the place any favours, needs a tidy up. Really strong smell of paint, which is a plus in one way but it was strong in the room too. Curtains didn’t close properly, the track needs sorting. Nice clean bathroom. Comfy bed, although the bedding was marked.
The best bit was the continental breakfast and the lady who organised it, had a nice chat. This is a relatively new venture and there is a bit of a way to go.
Under new management and we love it. The smash burgers are superb, as are the White Knuckle ales. Lovely welcoming place, even though the weather hasn't been great! You'll have to bring me out of here in a box! Proper good pub and that's a rare thing these days..!
Lovely bed and very nice and quiet dont here the pub lot come out nice owner too very friendly will definitely come back in the future if we have the time, easy access to room will not bump into anyone when going up just an alround nice week in I.O.W
We just called in here for a drink after being let down with a prior reservation for food elsewhere. And it was just what we needed. Friendly service great ales especially the black IPA. So nice we stayed for lunch which we could not fault so maybe things happen for a reason. Would definitely recommend.
Really good value and a unique place to stay. As hotel is in shape of a ship, each room has a nautical name. We were in the Bridge. Hotel is short walk from Bembridge and very handy for beach walk. Breakfast was available with cereal and toast and on certain nights the bar was open with food served. George was on hand each morning to answer any questions and we found the history of the inn very interesting.
Below average hotel.....
Lovely owner but room had too many issues to be dealt with over a short stay...
Breakfast was meagre, and for any Gluten Free customers, whom we noticed overlapped our stay, there was little option .. just bread.... no cereal....
Honestly.... not value for money.

Strange, we offer cereal, gluten free bread, fruit, yoghurts etc etc, not sure these people actually stayed
The whole building was unique. unusual but very comfortable. We could have done with another chair in the Room.....but other than that fine.
'Mine host ' was very friendly and helpful. We had a bit of banter.
