Our 1st stay and not the last. We chose the Endeavour suite and it did not disappoint. This was a Birthday treat for the fella. Whitby is our place we have often walked past and wondered. We stayed 2 nights, the bath and bed were just perfect. Ice bucket and ice provided almost instantly :) Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, We ate at the Vault on the Saturday evening and the food was great. We heard a drip from the living room area which we were concerned about, staff were there very quickly to help. New meets old bit of the building combined with heavy rain (In January) being looked into, wine providing for any inconvenience incurred Cannot fault our stay

this was a unique stay in the jospeh banks suite complete with beautiful fish tank ! we were welcomed warmly and were able to leave our bags at the hotel while we went out for the day. the hotel proved a scratch card to allow parking in certain areas closes to the hotel. the suite was huge with a large bathroom with seperate whirlpool bath , with tv and walk in shower . the bedroom was cosy , with the fish tank above the bed which also was visable through into the sitting room. the bed was comfy although as others have mentioned the pillows are on the firmer side. the room was nice and warm but there were also fans available in both rooms if needed the large sitting room had a tv but to be honest the atraction of the room was the fish tank. the only shame was that the light within the tank was controlled remotly so you could not control when it went on or off, also some may not like the continual bubbling sound from the tank - it was fine for me ! my other issue would be that for such a loverly big suite there was no fridge , not so much an issue in winter , but it would be a nice option for cold drinks in the summer there was tea and a nice coffee machine available as well as hot chocolate sachets. we ate in th resturant for a sunday roast and for breakfast both of which were excellent. the staff were freindly and helpful , and while not the cheapest hotel in whitby it was a treat and a unique experiance

Just stayed in the fish tank suite Wednesday night, wished we had booked for longer. The suite is beautiful and we loved looking at the fish, only thing that could improve this suite is adding a fridge for cold drinks or fresh milk otherwise its faultless. We loved the area, set higher than the harbour (so a little steep but worth it) lots of lovely independant shops, tea rooms, Bothams bakery ! We didnt know this side of Whitby existed and we have been many times. We parked on Back St Hildas terrace car park, almost opposite the hotel. Its cost ￡10.60 for 24 hours and was quiet (in Dec) you can pay on the Ringo App or at the machine. The hotel can give you an street permit but we prefferred the security of the car park. Only 20 spaces so could fill up in summer. Breakfast was supurb and excellent service from the ladies there, set us up perfectly for the day !

always a super experience. the staff are the best - lovely,friendly, helpful location is great rooms are super cant fault at all 10/10 highly recommend

We've been staying at The Resolution for 25 years now and love the place. But this time we was put in room 6 with a terrible view when there were rooms with great views which were empty. ( WHY ). But the staff are still wonderful and the rooms are clean but the carpet had bad stains on it. The breakfast are second to none.

Unfortunately not impressed at all with this hotel. Pros: Very friendly staff, especially the breakfast staff. Comfy bed. Excellent bathroom with tv. Cons: The room (king Suite) Given the price we paid (￡418) for 2 nights, this hotel was massively overpriced and over rated. The curtains didn’t close fully, bed pillows were hard and lumpy. The coffee station was a tray balanced on an even smaller table. Unable to make a drink without the cup getting stuck because there was no room. Repeatedly had to switch plugs from kettle, coffee machine and light. Would have expected bottle of water. Not what I expect for a “king Suite” Breakfast; As mentioned, very friendly staff but dressed in jeans and a t shirt. I actually thought they were guests not staff. Background music of rock and roll at breakfast. Staff gossiping behind the bar in full earshot of guests. Overall all an average hotel with massively inflated prices . Nice decor but doesn’t match service. Extremely disappointed. Would not stay here again.

We usually stay at Bagdale hall but the price put us off on this occasion so we booked a suite here instead , from entering by n the hotel we got a great reception from the lady behind the counter who told us everything we needed to know. The room was superb very large with a great roll top bath and huge shower, the decor is great and luxurious. The bar downstairs was lovely and a fantastic young lady behind the bar who was very bubbly and the breakfast was excellent too , we will be back again soon :) thank you

Firstly when we arrived in Whitby we were not staying at The Resolution and unfortunately had booked accommodation that was horrific. Having stayed at The Resolution prior, we turned up hoping to find “a room at the Inn” and were met by the most wonderful host of reception, Amy. She found us a room that we could literally move our things straight into and gave us advice regarding our previous accommodation and how to seek support in the matter. She was professional, good humoured and compassionate at the fact we had found ourselves in this situation. She is a credit to the establishment and I hope our comments are passed on to her. The room was beautiful, spacious and a recently renovated bathroom meant we could relax and start our holiday as we’d hoped. The breakfast is unreal and the staff in the restaurant could not be more obliging and courteous. The two women who served breakfast to us yesterday and today (22.10.25) are fabulous. Wonderful people make this hotel something very special. And our sincere thanks goes to all of them. I am reluctant to spread the word about this hotel as I’m worried more people will come and we won’t be able to get in! But I genuinely think this hotel deserves spot of praise. Shout out to Kate on reception too, who assisted with our parking problems. Great advice and a warm and welcoming individual. Couldn’t help enough. Thank you!

This was perhaps our 4th or 5th stay at The Resolution and honestly, they saved me and my partner's post-wedding trip to Whitby. We originally booked to stay in a 'suite' at a different accommodation provider down the road, but upon arrival, it wasn't fit to sleep in and was absolutely disgusting. Knowing we've always really enjoyed our past stays at The Resolution, we went to see if they could rescue us and offer us a last minute room for a few nights. The lovely staff behind the desk were super empathetic and friendly when we explained our situation, and got us booked in within 5 minutes into two absolutely gorgeous rooms to accommodate the length of our stay. The beds were ridiculously comfortable, the views were just lovely, the shower/baths were hot and luxurious and the breakfast every morning was just what we needed to set us up for the day. Everything in the rooms felt decadent and thoughtful, and everything was super clean and tidy. The Resolution made our journey to Whitby feel like the special trip we had originally hoped it would be; thank you for saving us! We didn't catch the names of the two staff members who booked us in, but we are so grateful for their kindness. We'll be back again :)

Absolutely exceptional stay in the Joseph Bank suite with fish tank. The rooms were just so lovely and comfortable. Having the fish tank between bedroom and living room was such a treat. And the jacuzzi bath with TV was just heavenly. Superb breakfast and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
