Not a hotel - no service at all. Grumpy (female) owner refused any request for food for small children who did not want a full english breakfast. The breakfast (for us) was greasy and the hash browns were rock hard and must have been nuclear microwaved. Difficult to park , room very cramped and apparently 'bijou with hairs in the shower'

Lovely hotel. Very clean. We chose a sea view room which was nice. The view out to sea was beautiful. This hotel is very efficiently run & everything seems to have been thought of. Breakfast is pre ordered the night before by filling out a form. This suited us & we weren't dissapointed. It was delicious. Would definitely come back

A last-minute booking so we could make a weekend of seeing Texas. Great idea. We booked on the website and spoke to Sarah directly. The arrival information sent was perfect. The room was better than expected, we booked the last room available (2) which was a small double with onsuite, the room was spotless with tasteful decor, the only slight setback for us was the mattress had little support and for us oldies that was as small issue. The breakfast was just quality, and the service was first class, The view from the front was priceless, and we just sat there with a drink looking for hours. Overall, it is just great value for money with great service. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation and book directly with the hotel for the best price. Thank you, and see you again soon ??

We had an excellent stay at The Rockside hotel last week. Our room and the rest of the hotel was spotless. The breakfasts were efficiently served each morning, with great selections for everyone’s taste. The dining room was always friendly, with each guest chatting away. Sarah would always ask everyone how their previous day was, and would always suggest places to go, and the best way to get there. Sarah and Darrell have a clockwork operation, and yet extremely friendly, from the minute you arrive to when you leave, everyone is catered for, nothing is an issue. Great hotel, fantastic service & friendly owners, which made sure we had a fabulous holiday. Thank you N.B The photos are from our hotel room

Brilliant stay warm welcome fantastic room, thank you for the upgrade. I would recommend booking direct. This is a great hotel if you want to be close to the beach, nice views. This hotel has an relaxed feel to it. This was our third visit here over 9years and we would definitely make it our fourth. The only thing I would change is for them to go back to not ordering breakfast the night before as this was something hard for myself to remember or making a big decision and not regreting it in the morning. Breakfast was lovely and very much enjoyed by myself and my son, nice touch to have music playing quietly in the background. Scarborough has so much to offer and this hotel is in the perfect spot, well maintained front and tidy appearance. Parking was cheap ￡2.50 a day. Thank you Rockside for making our holiday enjoyable.

Arrival: First time visit to Scarborough and on arrival at the Rockside was absolutely blown away by the location and surroundings. Facilities: I found the room on the ground floor fantastic and more than enough for me, The bed was comfortable and the facilities in the room were excellent. Communication with the owners was very helpful quick and friendly. Breakfast: Massive thank you to Theo-Ben and also Tiffany for their company and friendly service and welcoming nature nothing was too much. Made me feel very welcome at the Rockside and are an absolute credit to the hotel, there are not enough words to describe how happy the stay at the Rockside made me, also my Vegan lifestyle wasn't an inconvenience it was more than catered for satisfaction met and more ??, IAM sad to be leaving. Location: If you don't mind walking it's perfectly located central to everything Beach-tourists attractions-shops-town, In summary: Highly recommend definitely be returning to the Rockside. Excellent location Excellent Food Excellent facilities Excellent staff. What else could you ask for ????? Excellent place to stay, really friendly hosts, nothing too much trouble for them. Breakfast good, plenty of choice. Serve yourself at the bar! pay next morning at breakfast! brilliant! Great location, easy walk to town & harbour. A lovely stay, will be back!

First time visiting the Rockside but certainly won't be our last. Spent a lovely three nights here at the end of August/early September. The room was clean and had a wonderful sea view. The bed very comfortable and while the room was not the most spacious it was nice that a small table with a couple of chairs was situated by the window so we could enjoy the views of the beach and the castle. The bed and breakfast is run very smoothly - from collecting keys and parking permits from the key safes near the entrance to the breakfast ordering (which needed to be done by 8pm the night before), all was hassle-free. Breakfast was very nice - decent choice of cereals, fresh fruit, cooked full English, to smaller bacon/sausage/poached egg sandwiches. Generous servings of tea and coffee. Option to have orange or apple juice too. The staff were really attentive and very friendly (the young lad was so polite and cheery) - some of the nicest I've met when staying in B&Bs in Scarborough. The owners were great and while we only saw them in the morning during breakfast they were always contactable if required. The bathroom was clean and the shower, while not the most powerful was hot and more than adequate. The location is perfect. Didn't need to use the car while visiting places within the town - 10 minutes in most directions would get you to the castle, the beach, Peasholm Park, or local restaurants and take aways. Parking was not an issue near the venue - just make sure you get a permit. Breakfast area at front of property was light and spacious - tables were not squeezed in so you could enjoy your breakfast without being crammed in. Breakfast is served across two rooms depending on how many guests are booked in - it was fully booked when we visited but you'd never have known. A real pleasure and hope to return asap!

Lovely , clean room with great views over the North shore. Good location for open air theatre. On street parking right outside for only ￡2.50 a day. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
