Had a meal in restaurant, had the small steak and it was excellent. The waitress (Andrea ) was very polite and attentive.

As visitors to the area I was looking for somewhere nice to eat on our last night of our holiday. Reviews looked good so I booked here. We entered the restaurant and were ignored by 2 waiters, another then said he would come back in a minute but did not, then someone did come and showed us to a table. We were seated right next to a table of 12 ladies who had all obviously been there for a while as the chat was loud! No problem it was their night out, but why seat us there when we passed several more relaxing empty tables? No candles were lit on any of the the tables, which would have been nice on a cold winters night. We ordered and 20 minutes later we were served someone else's meal! 5 minutes after that our correct meal did arrive albeit all vegetables were absolutely stone cold, I really had to complain. Once the new hot meal arrived it was lovely. Onto the puddings next which we ordered and waited 25 minutes to be told that one of our choices was no longer avaliable. We then chose the same available pudding i. e. Black ice cream, Meringue, cherry sauce and layers of cherries. There was 1 cherry in each! The waiter did deduct the pudding cost from our bill for our poor meal experience which was very acceptable. If I lived in the area I would certainly not rush back. A disappointing dining experience.

Had a great overnight stay here ,we were checked in by a lovely, friendly receptionist. Our room was a clean and comfortable, had a nice choice of tea/coffee and water in the fridge was a nice touch .The bar and restaurant staff were also very friendly and helpful. Good menu food was plentiful and served was very good .

Great hotel for overnight stay. Comfy, well kept room that looked recently refurbed to a great standard and everything you need. Reception staff were really friendly and the bar/restaurant was great value with quality food. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in area for business or pleasure.

Meant to upload this sooner! Visited here with my family in early December last year for our Christmas get together. The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly and provided great service. All of our meals were cooked wonderfully. Great atmosphere and will be returning in the future.

Called in at The Tempest on impulse during the return journey of a family outing. It's a lovely restored 17th century inn. In the main the staff were very friendly and did their best to serve us efficiently even though they were very busy , I did however feel that the final bill was presented to me in a condescending manner, as if I would struggle to pay it. The food was average pub fare however for ￡20 I would have expected a little more than an undercooked potato halved ,two slivers each of parsnips and carrots a Yorkshire pudding and some kale along with three slices of roast beef, it was presented nicely though Was it value for money ? For me personally no it was probably a third more than I would expect to pay normally ,however the place was packed with many obvious regulars so they must be happy to pay the prices Would I go again ? Probably not , although it was very clean , the food well presented and the staff in the main friendly, we did not feel comfortable with the large dogs present or the prices on the menu

Lovely hotel rooms with nice restaurant and nice staff. The rooms are spacious and clean with large car park. We ate in the restaurant at night and food was really good. Our only negative was no fruit with breakfast which is a must for a hotel of this quality. Message for management please put out fruit with breakfast.

Fab u lous experience … staff so wonderful every single one gives 100% ..excellent food .. drinks great quality and bar service tops… stayed in a suite was so clean tidy and quality furnished … snug and cosy place . A special mention to Liam in the bar / catering and to Sharon and Paula on reception … can’t wait to visit the place again 100% in all aspects

Lovely pub, friendly staff and also spotlessly clean. The food is really good and not overpriced neither are the drinks for the standard of this pub/hotel. This was our first visit there and cannot believe we have never visited before, but it will definitely not be our last.

Just had 5 wonderful days staying at the tempest Arms elslack with our 2 dogs, lovely friendly staff and excellent service, the food served, from breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent,so much choice, highly recommend a stay here,even the locals are all friendly, all ready booked again for Christmas and next year
