What a wonderful spot! Towards the end of Marakolliya Beach near to the turtle feeding area and a short tuk tuk ride from the main drag of Tangalle lies the Waves Chalets. Small and peaceful with the constant sound of waves and right on the beach (breakfast and dinner was had on a picnic table in sight of the sea) this little gem is the perfect spot for some R&R. Mahesh and his team are the perfect hosts and the owner speaks excellent English. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the towels and bedding smell nice, AC cools the rooms down and while the water is cool because it’s so warm it never seems cold. The food was exceptionally tasty and catered to us being vegetarian. The mattress on my bed was also probably one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on! Would definitely come and stay again.

Интересные шале, прям рядом с океаном. Рестораны здесь есть, но не много. Сам хозяин готовит завтраки и можно заказать обеды и ужины. Рядом лагуна. В целом все очень понравилось. От тебе заботятся и все делают для хорошего отдыха. Только волны сильные, что невозможно плавать в океане, приходилось идти на другой пляж, где большие камни в море останавливают волну и есть возможность немного поплюхаться)) Место для спокойного отдыха, где мало (почти нет) людей и шум океана.

We had a fabulous two nights at the Waves Beach Chalet. Couldn’t ask for more after a week travelling inland. Peace and quiet in nature and right on the beach! We even had peacocks and monkeys visiting us. The chalet was super nice and comfy, four of us slept super well with the sound of waves. We also had our own table by itself right on the beach for breakfast and dinner. Mahesh and his team were just fantastic, very attentive to our needs, five stars service! There are also several family style restaurants accessible by foot. If you wish to be a little further from it all, there may be no better place. Tuk-tuk can be arranged whenever you want to move around including a small fabulous beach for family fun 20 min away.
