Friendly staff, hotel nice and easy to find, easy walk to town. Family room downstairs a lovely touch. Room clean and cosy with plenty of space, lovely shower ?? bed comfy. Breakfast was lovely, and good potion size, really set me up for the day.

We have stayed at the Wheeldale 5 times and it gets better each time we stayed in room 14 brilliant room with fantastic view over looking the cricket ground.Large double bed which was very comfy. The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower and the room was spotless. The breakfasts are brilliant so much choice and the staff are all really good nothing too much trouble.We shall certainly be going back to stay at this fantastic hotel.

Our family have been coming here for decades. Always a friendly welcome from staff and incredibly comfortable and clean. You can't beat the location overlooking the sea with the stunning Abbey in view. Easy access to everything Whitby has to offer and with free parking. The delicious breakfasts are generous too! My friend and l stayed in room 12. The rooms are spacious clean and pleasant. They are located at the rear of the property and separate from the main building. Because it has 2 bedrooms it is great for us. We have been staying in this B and B for about 5 years now, twice a year when we go to the fabulous 60s weekends in Whitby. It is near to the centre of Whitby and very near to lots of shops, cafes and visitor attractions. We book from year to year because it suits us so well. The staff are lovely, they are helpful and considerate. The breakfasts are varied and very tasty. All in all a brilliant place to stay. Thank you for making us always so welcome.

From arrival to departure the service we received was first class. Friendly staff, lovely room (sea view) and a brilliant breakfast to set us up for a day's sightseeing. Ideally located a stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Parking was easy, ￡2 for the whole stay roadside opposite the hotel. My lady accepted my marriage proposal and so we will definitely be back, this time as a married couple!

Room 8 fantastic views over looking the sea, with the harbour off to right.... could watch boats coming in/out. All clean and tidy, bathroom was great (big and spacious) Breakfast's were brilliant (full english ) would we stay here again........ Definitely

Just returned from a 2 night stay at The Wheeldale and were were suitably impressed that it lived up to the reviews. Greeting was great and facilities etc. fully explained. Parking not a problem as we didn't intend to use our car for the duration of our stay. Room (No.14) extremely spacious and great view over the cricket pitch and view of the hills. Bathroom immaculate with full bath and a separate double shower. Bed extremely comfortable, in fact slept in yesterday morning! Breakfast was again excellent, good range of local produce all cooked perfectly. More than happy to recommend and will be returning.

Love coming here every year great family run bed & breakfast , staff lovely breakfast great and rooms comfy and fantastic excellent views , lovely coastal walks, fantastic places to eat and plenty of different shops

The B&B was very clean and welcoming. Great, location just a 15 minute walk to town centre. Room was spacious and plenty of plug sockets in the right places. The host provided me with greek yoghurt for breakfast as a special request, instead of full English, which was a lovely touch. There is a very comfortable lounge with sea views where you can get drinks and snacks. Would definitely recommend.

Extremely welcoming staff, fabulously cooked breakfast, breakfast staff very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 4 with a sea view for 3 nights, very clean, newly refurbished bathroom with a lovely shower. Fluffy white towels, shower gels etc lovely quality. We were given a parking permit for our duration and managed to get a spot outside in the road. The walk to the town had several routes, by road, or stairs, which if you are not able bodied maybe a challenge. I would definitely recommend this hotel, I also booked directly so received a discount, early check in and a choice of room.
