I spent 8 days in Sri Lanka prior to a trip to the Maldives. I stayed at the Kingsbury in Colombo, Queens Hotel in Kandy and last but not least Train View Chalet. I add the first 2 places so that people are aware that I appreciate comfort and convenience. My Glamping experience at the Train View was fantastic. The room was new and clean and extremely well done. It was a thrill to watch the trains go by from my deck. The owner was amazing and arranged a train journey for us, we got very special treatment during that trip. You can ask when you get there. The food was great, and the staff were very helpful. My only regret is that I didn’t stay longer. I hope to return again

The absolute legends at Train View Chalet looked after us when our train hit a landslide nearby. They saved our night with incredible generosity and hospitality. A beautiful venue with the most friendly staff - I would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone.

We stayed here in May 2025. While the staff were polite and helpful, the overall experience did not justify the high rate. We were quite disappointed with the quality of the food—it definitely needs significant improvement. Cleanliness was another concern. Both the room and the bathroom were not well maintained. Even though it's a two-story chalet, the maintenance and cleaning of both floors were poor. Don’t be misled by the pictures online. It’s surprising how this place has received such positive reviews. We would not recommend it based on our experience.

This place is so nice, quiet, spacious, comfy, and clean. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and caring, making us feel right at home. We especially loved the beautiful natural pool and the friendly pets like rabbits, all kept in a clean and well-maintained environment. It truly added to the charm of the stay. We hope to stay here again in the future

I had a wonderful one-night stay here. The location is truly special—nestled in nature, with a calming stream nearby and beautiful greenery all around. The service was excellent, the staff was warm and caring, and the food was delicious. In the morning, we enjoyed watching many birds visit the area, making it feel like a peaceful retreat. The rooms are nature-friendly and stepping outside feels like blending into the natural surroundings. It was a short but heartwarming and refreshing experience

It was really good experience to stay in “Train View Chalet” hotel. Rooms are so comfortable, workers are so kind, servis and meal are 10 out of 10! You can enjoy train views and you can take fish therapy. It was really good experience, thanks for all????HOPE TO STAY AGAIN THERE??

We had a very nice stay here. The hotel provided a luxury shuttle service from the train station, which was punctual and convenient. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, and the rooms were incredibly clean and beautifully designed—simply great rooms! Opening the door, we couldn’t help but say, ‘Wow!

Really nice place! We had a great stay here. I especially want to mention the natural pool experience—it was amazing. The train view was lovely too, and the fact that there were no trains passing at midnight made it a very peaceful and cool place. Highly recommend

Went with family and the stay was great. We got a family room where my kids slept in e bunk bed. Amazing structure with natural look. The food was awesome and kids enjoyed a lot. I tried the local Srilankan delicacy. Being vegetarian they made dishes which we could easily have. The host Madhawa Eranda was engaging and informed all options of local sightseeing. Great place to stay for 2-3 nights if you want to enjoy he nature. He has natural stream water swimming pool. Now I know why it’s called Train View. Thanks Madhawa Eranda for hosting us.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! From the warm welcome to the beautifully clean and well-maintained rooms, everything exceeded our expectations. The peaceful and quiet surroundings provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, making our experience even more special. One of the highlights was definitely the natural spring water swimming pool. It felt like a true oasis, blending perfectly with the natural surroundings. The refreshing swim in crystal-clear water was a unique experience we truly cherished. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We’re truly grateful for the memorable experience and can’t wait to return.
