We are truly sorry to hear that your experience at our lovely home did not meet your expectations, especially after such a traumatic Namibian incident. Reading through most of our highly favorable reviews, I am sure you will agree that your encounters at our guest house, are completely uncharacteristic of the level of exceptional service and true commitment to comfort, care and satisfaction the entire team at Van der Stel Manor strive to provide to all. Although we pride ourselves in creating easy, effortless and memorable stays, it is clear we fell short during your visit: ? I was horrified to read about your bathroom not being properly cleaned. Not acceptable and no excuses and definitely not part of the high standards we constantly try to uphold. Please accept my personal apologies. The issue has already been addressed and dealt with and will certainly never happen again. Thank you for bringing this serious matter to our attention. ? I am sorry to hear that our king-sized beds of 1,8 meters in length (and sans a foot-end) did not meet your comfort needs. I understand the importance of a good night’s sleep, and we regret that your experience fell (literally) short in this regard. As a taller guest, we recognize that you may require more space to rest without difficulty. ? Our block-out curtains were professionally designed and manufactured to ensure that no unnecessary sunlight enters the room. ? The croissants are ordered from a renowned South-African bakery, and we use no extra butter prior to baking them freshly every morning. I am sorry that you found them to be greasy and the bacon to be over-done. Our cook truly tries his best to ensure bacon is well-done and crispy. ? As we have had no other complaints as to the ‘burned smell’ throughout the house, please be assured that we are doing our utmost to locate and identify the source of this ‘unpleasant’ odor. ? We are currently preparing dedicated parking bays. ? At Van der Stel Manor we have a proper and professional pest-control program in place – in accordance with international health and safety rules, regulations and standards.
