We stayed at Villa Angela in August 2025 for our 10th wedding anniversary. First impressions count, and the view was simply stunning, overlooking the bay but also views of Mount Etna. On arrival, the team informed us they had upgraded our room as it was a special occasion which was very kind. The room was beautiful. It was spacious and very clean with a large balcony over looking the pool. The team were amazing. They could not have been more helpful. Ada helped us book excursions and dinner reservations with places in town. They offer a shuttle bus into town and also to Castelmola which can be booked with them through Whatsapp. Taormina is a lovely town with lots to do but can be quite busy. I'd recommend going to Castelmola for a quiet and relaxed evening. After an evening in town, we returned to the bar at Villa Angela for a well made cocktail and we were lucky to watch Etna erupting. We booked a two bedroom unit and we were looking forward to our stay. Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy it. Lovely hotel but in trying to use the large jet tub that was the focus of the bathroom, there was no water pressure for hot water and rendered it useless. Could not be fixed and was likely not a new problem. One person showered in the evening and the water pressure was extremely poor. In the morning there was no hot water at all as the boiler was apparently off so no one showered in the morning. One of the beds was notably poorer than the other bed and experienced significant discomfort. As a result, I unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel. It was the end of their season but the price should have been more appropriately adjusted to align with condition and experience. There is a free shuttle to town which is very nice and convenient.
The hotel is fabulous with very friendly and attentive staff. The food is fresh and delicious and there is a wide drink selection. Room was comfortable and well appointed with a lovely balcony area. Pool was clean as was the pool area. Shuttle bus service into town was excellent.
Semplicemente spettacolare, hotel arroccato sopra la slendida Taormina, con una spettacolare vista sull' etna e il mare sottostante. Ottimi servizi ristorante e bar, personale gentilissimo e disponibile ad ogni richiesta. Ottimo servizio navetta su prenotazione direttamente alla hole dell' hotel. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. solo la vista dal terrazzinodelle camere vale il viaggio. Consigliatissmo.
Outstanding hotel ,ideally located in beautiful Taormina. Superbly appointed hotel offering every conceivable amenity with bedroom balconies overlooking Taormina and Mt Etna . Extremely friendly and helpful staff providing excellent service and good food at a very reasonable price . Unhesitatingly recommended as the place to stay in Taormina .
The hotel is a short drive up the hill from Taormina and has the most fantastic view of Etna, Taormina and miles of coastline. The rooms are tastefully decorated with ample storage space, air conditioning, fridge and safe. The large bathroom had a shower over the bath, a sink, toilet and bidet, although work top space is small. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, body lotion, towels, robes and slippers are all provided. The rooms have probably the largest balcony I have ever come across in a hotel, fabulous for admiring the amazing view. Breakfast is buffet style with hot and cold choices, breads, cereals, fruit etc and the option to have a pot of Yorkshire tea! Pool area is nice, plenty of sun beds, towels are provided and it was really quiet whilst we were there . The hotel provides a shuttle (small charge) to and from town which must be booked. If you don’t want to be tied to the shuttle times there is the option to take the steps that are a short walk from the hotel, all 500 of them!!!! The hotel bar is reasonably priced with a good choice of drinks. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend staying here.
My husband & I just returned from an amazing Sicily trip & a week at Hotel Villa Angela. It was just perfect in every way & we have fallen in love with the hotel & Taormina. The breakfasts were plentiful, beautiful lunches with the best views, lazy pool days, cocktails overlooking Etna, beautiful rooms with amazing terraces to meeting some great people who return year after year. A special Thank You to Sam, Katherine and our new friend Walter where nothing was a problem and who made our stay even more enjoyable. We are 100% booking for next year. Thank you to all of the staff for making this one of our best holidays ever.
Siamo stati a Villa Angela durante il nostro viaggio in Sicilia. L'hotel è situato sopra il paese di Taormina e domina la costa con vista anche sull'Etna. La proprietà è di Jim Kerr, fondatore, leader e frontman dei SIMPLE MINDS, band in attività da 50 anni. L'hotel ha 22 stanze ognuna delle quali ha un balconcino da cui si può godere della stupenda vista, l'arredo delle stanze è curato, elegante in ogni dettaglio, ma mai eccessivo, cosa che ho trovato in tutta la struttura, eleganza ma senza eccessi. Leggete la lettera di Jim che trovate sul sito web, prima e sopratutto dopo il Vostro soggiorno, e capirete come dalla fredda e piovosa Glasgow sia facile innamorarsi della Sicilia in genere e di questa zona in particolare. Meno facile deve essere stato decidere di acquistare l'hotel. Stanze pulitissime, bagno grande e funzionale, peccato per la doccia in vasca che può creare problemi in ingresso e uscita. Morbidi e profumati gli asciugamani, prodotti da bagno eccellenti. Colazione top servita nella sala ristorante, a buffet, prodotti tipici, frutta fresca, salato e dolce in abbondanza, succhi di futta, caffè, cappuccino etc. Sono convinto che Jim guidi il Suo albergo con l'energia e l'entusiasmo che ha dimostrato a fine luglio sul palcoscenico di Lucca, lasciando il pubblico entusiasta e felice. In fondo una band che suona dal vivo può essere paragonata allo staff di un Albergo a quattro stelle, ognuno deve fare la sua parte affinchè tutto funzioni per il meglio e il risultato finale sia la soddisfazione dello spettatore o dell'ospite. Sono altrettanto certo, magari mi sbaglio, che Jim scelga personalmente i propri dipendenti e come ha scelto, insieme al suo amico e collega Charlie, i nuovi componenti della band in maniera eccezionale, devo dire che il personale dell'hotel dimostra di essere all'altezza. Dalla gentilissima signora della reception, al facchino che ci ha accompagnato in camera, al direttore che abbiamo conosciuto al check out al cameriere che ci ha servito e consigliato durante la cena, tutti splendidi. A Villa Angela tutto ha funzionato per il meglio durante il nostro breve soggiorno. La piscina ottima, curata, con lettini ed ombrelloni, asciugamani forniti dall'hotel. Vengono consegnati al ristorante. L'hotel dispone di parcheggio ma non molto grande, va prenotato e soggetto a piccolo extra. Ottimo il ristorante, che abbiamo provato la sera a cena, prezzi non esagerati per la location e il cibo. VILLA ANGELA non si può definire economico ma certamente il prezzo è adeguato alla struttura ed ai servizi. Ho letto che Mr. KERR voleva comprarsi una squadra di calcio e poi l'affare sfumò, ma se questi sono i risultati.
