We were completely blown away by the breathtaking views, the exceptional hospitality, and the peaceful privacy of the villa. Every detail was carefully thought out to make our stay comfortable and memorable. One of our favorite features was being able to order breakfast ingredients to prepare ourselves in the villa. On days when we had early excursions (some as early as 8AM!), it was incredibly convenient to have everything we needed on hand to cook a hearty, energizing meal before heading out. The in-room information booklet was also a great touch—full of helpful tips and details that made our stay even smoother. Another highlight was the laundry service. We had our clothes done one day, and when we returned, everything was beautifully folded, with some items thoughtfully hung to avoid wrinkles. It's small touches like that which truly reflect the staff's genuine care and attention to detail. Their warmth and hospitality shone through in so many ways—more than we can even list. We can’t wait to return!

A mixed review. The villa we stayed in was very good - decently equipped kitchen, lovely grounds, away from the hustle and bustle of town. There was a great little outside grill to cook on. The concierge, was friendly enough, but not a problem solver. We are not very demanding guests, just were looking for a little stronger recommendations for things. He was responsive, but the initiative was definitely on us. And even more clarity on how to be prepared for excursions that they pre-booked for us. Access to the grounds also seemed a bit off. There was a pool, but seemed more attached to the main house and there was not signage or indication of the best way to get there. And that made going there feel like we were intruding on the main house. On the The Villa Cayo website, the owners talk highly of guest commitment. So I was looking forward to saying hi. Our drivers said great things about Ms. X, and that we should hear some of her stories. But...while we saw her and her husband around, we were never greeted or sought out to visit (five night stay - one day we never even left the property). So that felt a little less welcoming too. Quick to invoice, slow to be welcoming. The companies that they worked with for adventures were indeed good. Belize Cave Expeditions were great We did Cave tubing/ziplining and a trip to Tikal. So, while I think the physical components and the outside providers were great, the house side of the experience was lackluster. Lastly, advice for the traveler. Villa Cayo offers packages, including the option to get picked up from and taken back to Belize City rather than rent a car. When we were penciling things out, seemed like a good idea. BUT...Villa Cayo is located well outside of town and there is no safe way to walk into town - busy road, pretty hilly, and a couple miles. You are isolated and need a driver each time you want to leave. One of the options Villa Cayo offered was the chocolate and green iguana project tour in San Ignacio. That was priced at US$100. For all the other trips, most fees and entries were included. But this one, the $100 was only the driver. We were in his vehicle for ＜30min total for the day and then we also had to pay out of pocket for the two tours. We could have gotten a cab into town for US$10 and about the same back. The locations of the in-town tours were about 5 minutes walking from each other - San Ignacio central is small. Long story short for this paragraph - unless you don't mind paying for cabs and drivers, rent your car in Belize City - we paid more for the transfers and into-town rides. (Although, we learned A LOT from both drivers to and from the airport, and that was worth a lot).

This was our 3rd stay at Villa Cayo and that should tell you how wonderful this place is. Don't think twice about booking here. The hosts are amazing and super helpful with excursions and all details in the area. Luis is a wonderful addition to the staff and can't do enough for you. It is a magical place with views to die for! The new infinity pool is very lovely and beautifully finished. The grounds are beautifully maintained as are the accommodations. We would never stay anywhere else when visiting the San Ignacio area and definitely plan to return. Four times the charm????? YES.

We recently stayed at Villa Cayo on the recommendation of friends who previously stayed a year ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hats off to Virginia (owner), Luis (property manager), and the entire team for the attention to detail, assistance, recommendations and just a 5-star +++ stay! We rented one of the villas, and it was amazing! Views are incredible being up above it all, the sunsets are to die for! The villa was extremely well appointed and we appreciated Luis taking the time to give us a warm welcome and overview upon arrival. Villa Cayo helped arrange transportation to/from the airport, taxi service when we needed to go out for groceries or meals, and helped us select and arrange day-to-day activities. We packed so much in based on Villa Cayo's recommendations for amazing food and fun (cave tubing on Branch River, the Iguana Conservancy, the Butterfly Farm, and visits to the ruins at Xunantunich and Cahal Pech) - we would highly recommend all! Although we usually arrange our own itinerary and transportation, this was an opportunity to leave it all in the hands of Villa Cayo and they did an amazing job on all fronts. We appreciate our drivers (Larry and Mr. G) for their professianlism and friendly native vibe. Thank you Virginia, thank you Luis and team, we hope to visit again!

The villa was excellent, everything was high quality, spotlessly clean with housekeeping service daily. Extra large comfy bed and very tastefully decorated. View over the treetops from the patio was wonderful, we saw Toucans (and a snake). Location is good, only less than 10 minutes drive into the town. The staff were very helpfull and arranged all our excursions, you can even have your breakfast delivered to the door, althought the apartment has everything you need if you choose to cook yourself. Used their laundry service twice and clothes were delivered back the same day. Could not find anything negative to say, would definately recommend.

Our stay at Villa Cayo exceeded expectations. We stayed in one of their separate guesthouses. Sitting on the comfy Adirondack chairs watching toucans eating fruit from the tree in front of our guesthouse was magical. The property faces west so watching the sunsets with a glass of wine in the evenings was great. The guesthouse was very comfortable and impeccably cleaned. The kitchen was well equipped and included some basic seasonings to make cooking convenient. They provided soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. The Villa is very close to San Ignacio, about 5 minutes by car. It was a great stay. Highly recommended. We absolutely look forward to staying here again.

Our stay at Villa Cayo was nothing short of fantastic. I would go so far as to say it is the best accommodation option in Santa Elena. From the breathtaking views to the immaculate interior of the villas, every aspect exceeded our expectations. Marlon was the first member of the Villa Cayo team that we met, and what warm welcome he gave us! Beyond his kindness, he thoroughly impressed us with his profound knowledge of Belize and its history. Marlon knows the country inside and out, and I would highly recommend booking a tour with him—it is a must! His knowledge and passion is unparalleled. We asked him a million and one questions about Mayan civilization, Belizean history, culture, and more, and he had an answer for each one. Honestly, my biggest regret from our trip was not spending more time with Marlon. He's truly awesome and we are planing to return just to explore more with him! Special thanks as well to Luis for ensuring our stay was flawless. His attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction were evident throughout our time at Villa Cayo. He made us the best breakfast, and was quick to respond to our emails/WhatsApps. Luis ensured we were safe no matter where we were. He connected us with Mr. G, which made transportation to/from town for dinner or the grocery store a breeze. We were so happy staying at Villa Cayo, which is peaceful, quiet, and truly a slice of heaven in Santa Elena. We woke up every morning to have coffee with the birds and watched sunset every evening after a day of adventure. The beds were comfortable, everything was new and clean, there was AC, the shower was awesome (hot & great pressure), and the little touches in the villa made it special. If you're looking for a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and jungle in Belize, Villa Cayo is the place to be!

This was a great choice for us as we wanted a place that could serve as a hub for a few weeks while exploring the area. Our modern casita was well equipped and comfortable with a spectacular view of the mountains and river valley. We were able to cook our own meals while being conveniently close to San Ignacio. On top of that, the housekeeping services were excellent.

We stayed at Villa Cayo in the Rooftop Villa for 4 days. Stunning views, and every amenity we needed, made our stay amazing. Luis, Edgar and Mr G were so helpful with recommending restaurants and tours, and answering our questions. Such a wonderful place to stay with great people. Highly recommend Villa Cayo as a place to stay.

We loved it here. We were in contact with the owner, Virginia, prior to our arrival - when we asked for tips on how to arrange excursions she offered to put together a tailored itinerary. We had one activity that we wanted to do that wasn't on the first version of the itinerary, but Virginia worked it in and sent us back a revised version. It was amazing. Part of what she arranged for us was transportation to and from the airport (our opinion would be that you should not rent a car). The villa was a free standing building (no shared walls) with a complete kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave) with everything you need to cook a meal. Coffee was also provided in our room. Of all of the villas on the property, our view was probably the most limited, but we LOVED it anyways. We slept with the curtains pulled back at night and woke to sunrays on the trees outside. There were two chairs and a table right outside of our door where we sat to watch the sunset. Virginia made our stay completely hassle free. We interacted with Edgar a lot. He was great and was our tour guide for Xunantunich. Luis made us breakfast in the mornings, and Rose and Blanca made our room comfy and clean.
