Amazing staff, great facilities, very clean and comfortable, everything made with love, soooo yummy-delicious food! Just a 3-min walk to the beach. We also enjoyed the pool a lot! Felt very happy during our stay, thank you so much!! :-)

Villas Kalimba is a truly magical place. This small property is ideally located in the lovely town of Samara. The villas are well appointed with a small kitchen to prepare some light meals. The bedrooms were ideal for our family of 4, as were the bathrooms. What’s fantastic is stepping out of the villas and seeing the beautiful grounds - the landscaping is top notch - and the lovely pool next to the bar and restaurant. There the kind staff is always waiting to assist in any way. They make great cocktails and delicious meals! The check in was so friendly! They provide tips for the area and make sure you have everything you need. Every interaction was full of smiles. The location in town was perfect - a short walk to the beach (like under 5 min), and there is a small market within 2 minutes. There are great restaurants, shopping, and wonderful people in Samara. If you are seeking a quiet spot to retreat after a day of surfing, zip lining, sea kayaking, horseback riding… or just after sitting on the beach all day, this is the place!

We loved our stay at Villas Kalimba! Our villa had everything we needed to stay for two weeks. It was clean, in a great location, excellent food, nice swimming pool, 2 minutes from beach and local gym. But the people there were the best. Helpful, friendly, and generous with true pura vida. We are definitely going back!

This is a lovely family boutique hotel with the most pleasant people who truly care about you as a person. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to also keep us safe when we did not know the area well. The villas are beautiful with a nice kitchen for cooking. There is a sweet cat, Ginger, who greeted us in the morning. It is very close to the beach and a supermarket next door, which was very convenient for picking up supplies to make breakfast.

We stayed a week at Villa Kamar (next door to Villas Kalimba and the same owner/operator), 5-room Villa in a private compound with a good size pool (larger than the shared pool at Villas Kalimba). Aside from the greatness of Costa Rica at large, Villa Kamar met our needs perfectly for a siblings reunion. I can't say enough good about the attentiveness of the entire crew there -- we did have a few bugs in some of the bathrooms but what could have marred our time was taken care of so quickly by a concerned staff that I wouldn't mark them down for that -- sort of comes with the territory in Central America! Samara is a perfect community for a quiet vacation and I don't know what others say about security, but our experience left us with zero concerns.

We stayed at Villas Kalimba on the recommendation of a friend who has stayed there multiple times. We were welcomed on arrival and the staff were always willing to help. The units are clean and have everything we needed for our 5 days in Samara. It's close to all amenities including a short 2 minute walk to the beach. We will definitely be back!

Villa KAMAR is a jewel that just feels like home! Its perfect location, privacy and comfortability makes it the ideal beach house to spend vacations in one of Costa Rica’s finest beaches. Diego, Laura, Carolina, and Raquel do whatever they need to for you to feel welcoming all the time. We’ll be back for sure! A 10/10 destination at Samara Beach.

Loved this place!!! We’ve been to Sámara many times before but this was our first time staying at villas kalimba and I have to say it was my favorite spot of all! We were a party of 7 (two couples, 3 kids), and stayed in the five-bedroom Villa Kamar; everyone had their own private bedroom and bathroom. The villa is right in town, next to a supermarket, within walking distance to everything, and directly across the street from the beach. I loved sitting by the villa’s private pool, listening to the ocean waves. The staff are so incredibly kind and friendly and helpful; they really go above and beyond to make your stay a comfortable one. I cannot wait to return.

Thank you Villas Kalimba for another fabulous vacation our 9th stay they say location is everything but the we loved our comfortable 1 bedroom villa soo spacious clean beautifully renovated bathroom was amazing we look forward to next year. Kalimba made sure we had best kayak snorkel trip and offer so much more of Samaras best activities we loved our daily ocean walk/swim villa is so close you can hear the waves. Delicious breakfast lunch and dinner at Kalimba Restaurant beautifully located poolside so much so visitors say they want to return. 1st rate staff and services Thank you all
