Arrived at the Wavecrest for the bonfire and fireworks night, and Barmouth was as expected extremely busy but managed to find parking opposite the hotel in the pay and display, which cost us £9.30 for 24 hours. We were greeted by the owners Chris and Zelanie who seemed very friendly. Was asked to pay for room on arrival and was told that, unfortunately, we were on the top floor. We were in room #8 at the back of the hotel which we found to be comfortable, clean and very quiet. We knew at the time of booking it that there was no meal option, so we went for a 5 minute stroll into town for breakfast. All in all the hotel served our needs and hopefully we will visit again next year.
Couldn't fault this place. The host was very informative and helpful on arrival and the room was clean, warm and comfortable with all the amenities you could need. We had room 9 on the top floor with a sea view. No curfew, could come and go as we pleased. Public carpark right opposite which was handy. Lovely views from the room. Would definitely stay again.

What about all the free on street parking opposite?
When we booked we thought breakfast was included which wasn't and we were then told there were lots of places to eat in the town. Over the years we have stayed in several places along the front that offer breakfast for a lot less and a more friendly atmosphere.

Sorry that you booked without checking if we served breakfast. :-)

Just got back today from a wonderful 2 night stay at Wavecrest. The hosts Chris and Zelanie could not have been lovelier. We stopped on the 3rd floor and the sea view was gorgeous. Room was spacious and very comfortable. The window seat and fridge was a nice touch. The whole place was beautifully decorated and you could feel the pride that the owners have for their business/home. They have a lovely place and it felt like you were staying with friends. Great location too. Can highly recommend.
Could not fault our stay, lovely hosts. Room was faultless well worth the money, really nice all round. Sea view is a must, bed was very comfortable, the fridge in the room was a rare touch. We will be staying again and again and can't wait to visit again thank you!
Just came back from a lovely long weekend, crestwave guest house, was amazing, room 6, was lovely, had lovely day's out, and the thought of coming back to wavecrest, was amazing, we couldn't wait to go back to our room and cosy up and watching the sunset, and weather coming in of the sea. Loved our stay, highly recommended place to stay, thanks again
Yet again I returned to Wavecrest for a long weekend and this time I was in room 6. I've sampled rooms 1, 3 and 6 now and this was the best with a superb view of the sea and beach; worth the climb up two long flights of stairs. There is ample parking just across from the house and if you are lucky then you get to park free on the street, otherwise you have to pay at the meter with coins or with the PayByPhone app on a mobile phone. No credit-card payment and over £11 for 24 hours; that's a lot of coins. Room 6 has a shower with ample hot water. The room has a kettle and small fridge, good lighting, and a very comfortable bed. A front door key is provided and guests can come and go as they will. Breakfast is not provided but the co-op is nearby, just over the railway lines, and I stocked up there with cereal, bread, fruit juice and milk. It is open on Sunday but for reduced hours. Be warned that Chris and Zelanie don't like guests to bring in takeaway foods for fear of grease stains. Fortunately the weather was kind and we were able to eat our (generous) Yung Chow fried rice from Good Luck, next to the Dragon Theatre, at the table in the front garden.
