So first off would i stay here again , short answer NO, booked through Jet2 on a half board basis. Quote Jet 2 their hotel advertisement - "2 restaurants including 1 buffet restaurant and 1 à la carte restaurant, serving a range of international and Greek cuisine". so attending evening meal expecting a buffet style meal we were disappointed to find that there is no Buffet service only al a carte , the menu was given to us for the half board users, only find that most of the meals on the menu required a further cost on top of what we had already paid and most were not to our taste, after a conversation with the manager Dennis he was so helpful and amended our meals each night to suit us. Dennis and his staff were really helpful and friendly especially DIYA . As a non smokers and having travelled to many locations since lockdown with non smoking policies we found that the hotel allowed smokers to smoke in the rooms ,around the pool and inside the restaurant which made the hotel Stink of the stench of cigarette smoke, it was that bad in our room from the smokers next door , our room held the stench which made us feel uncomfortable over the first two days, after speaking to Effie at reception requesting some air freshener she decide that she would move us to another room which had two balconies and no smoke smell And We Thank her for that. As there was bad weather prior to our arrival the pool area was infested with mosquitos and Ants so we had several bites over the next few days. Breakfast was a buffet style and had great choice the only issue was you had to share it with the wasps. And finally Argassi was not to our taste , it was run down with an unkept road running through it which reminded me of an old town in Kenya may years ago. So my NO is based on the above comments made. This hotel is a lovely hotel which is clean in a lovely location on the seafront, The staff are friendly and very helpful and we could not fault this part of our stay,

Lovely hotel located close to Argassi in south eastern Zakynthos. There were three of us and we booked a ground floor junior suite with outdoor whirlpool. The room was very clean with good facilities including a fridge, iron and hairdryer. The bathroom was modern with a rainwater shower which had good pressure and shampoo and shower gels were provided. The outdoor area, which included the whirlpool, had a table and chairs as well as two loungers. Unfortunately our whirlpool hot tub was only partially functional with the temperature varying from hot to cold and with only half the jets working. This was reported to reception but remained unresolved by our departure. Use of an alternative whirlpool was offered though it hadn’t been used for some time and was cold and filled with debris. The hot tub was one of the reasons we spent extra on this room type and so this was disappointing. The breakfast selection was of good standard and there were a lot of hot and cold items available. The hotel offers a taxi service to other parts of the island. The driver was very friendly but it’s worth confirming the cost of the trip before use. From speaking to other guests it appeared the costs vary from day to day.

Was at the windmill bay late sept for a week. Never been to any Greek islands before so wasn't 100% sure what to expect. Firstly 55 mins from landing to sitting with a glass of something rather nice and welcoming.....splendid. Received a warm welcome at the hotel and were very efficiently checked in with all the bits and pieces re breakfast ect explained......the 70 euros Greek taxes was a bit of a nasty surprise but that was my fault for not doing my homework. We were on the 2nd floor in a superior double. Room looks like it's been fairly recently renovated. It was fairly spacious for a double with a big bed and bigger than average bathroom with walk in shower. Wardrobe space was limited but enough for ourselves, fridge was a decent size with complimentary large bottle of water and kettle tea, coffee and few biscuits. Our balcony didn't get any direct sunlight but that suited us perfectly. The balconies were very private at the hotel mainly because of the hotels crescent shape but also the large dividing walls. The pool area was really quiet and no problems getting a sunbed or trolley.......the pool toilets were immaculate and general area round the pool very clean. We spent most days at the pool on the loungers looking out to sea shaded by some of the palm trees in the grounds The direct access into the sea from the pool area was very welcome and the sea was sandy and shallow once past the 3 or 4 yards of stones. The breakfast area was clean, tidy and ran very efficiently.....not a huge choice but what they did have was decent quality....they even had a toaster that didn't take 3 days to toast the bread. ?? The 3 or 4 ladies who work in the restaurant were very friendly whilst going on with their work. The resort itself is small but the pubs and restaurants are all very good, no complaints with quality or quantity of food. Not a boisterous resort probably average age 50 plus. A few minor quibbles or on the wishlist. 1. The wasps...,...annoying as annoying can be at the hotel dining area but don't seem to be as aggressive as UK wasps. 2. Bannister going down the steps into the sea can be doing with being tightened up, it's fairly loose. 3. Pavements in the resort itself can do with a bit of care and attention a lot of trip hazards. Would I return to Zante.....yes I would. Would I return to the Windmill Bay.....yes definitely. Overall I found this a very pleasant way to spend a week, with the quiet but efficient charm of the hotel and the friendliness of the people of Zante being the highlights.

Camere vista mare suggestive. Servizio e pulizia perfetti, ottima colazione ottima cena nel ristorante annesso. Si può fare tranquillamente il bagno a mare davanti all’albergo. Quando non c’è molto vento l’acqua è verde trasparente e cristallina.

This year we decided to introduce our daughter and friend to the Windmill Bay hotel. This is our little bit of heaven and I’m so glad they loved it as much as we do. From our welcome back to the kindness shown for my special birthday, it’s these small things that matter. We had 3 rooms, the junior suite was perfect for us to meet in and was so clean, beautiful view as always, and you can’t beat an early morning sunrise on the balcony. Always able to get a lounger, great food and drink during the day, would highly recommend the ice coffee and gyros. There were a few wasps about but we saw this in many other waterfront places this year, us visiting later in the season. We have to highlight the great taxi service offered by George. Sophia, thank you for yet again another amazing stay and can’t wait to return next year.

Beautiful hotel right on the sea. Everything perfect, small things that people can complain about were all catered for. Quiet good air con, excellent shower, lots of water and toilet rolls … Breakfast really good and until 10am. 11am checkout too We stayed in room 416 on the second floor (4 floors but 2 below street level down to the pool) the views were amazing and the sea was lit up at night Plenty of hardworking very polite and friendly staff Argassi is a lovely resort with all the tavernas and shops 8 minutes walk away All in all 10 out of 10 for our 8 night stay And Jet2 spot on again

Great hotel at a very good location. It has been refurbished recently and looks brand new. Staff was friendly, close to the client and open to help. Management is doing a very good job for the day to day operation and pay attention to the details. Value for money and highly recommended.

Positives: - the staff are so lovely!!! (Thank you esp Nick, so lovely!) - the rooms are fabulous, comfy and clean, all with a view of the sea which is nice - breakfasts were very yummy and varied, with a good selection for gluten free etc, pool bar also lovely for lunch and reasonably priced. Negatives : - wasps are a big problem here, in the breakfast area especially. We had Jungle Formula and sprayed this on the table before eating which did help. Important to note that the wasps are all over Argassi but there is a high abundance of them at the hotel too. - the bar down to the sea is very unstable and could do with being fixed - very muddy areas where the grass has died off - this is a bit yuck when you are wet or have wet feet as it goes everywhere, worse in the grassy area not by the pool. - the road behind the hotel is hellish and it can be very difficult to cross at times, when super busy. It's on a bad bend so never know what is coming! - because of this busy road, I found it very difficult to sleep - very noisy especially around 3.30am? Could always hear a lot of loud revving. - the shower will flood your bathroom and there is limited storage in here Aware that I have written more negs than positives but honestly these are just being nit picky. We had a beautiful holiday in Argassi. So relaxing and loved bopping about in the sea. Places to eat: green frog - very yum, good entertainment Apollos Zorbas

We came back from windmill bay today after spending 10 nights. We went for the bed and breakfast option. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly young woman who gave us a glass of champagne. We went to our room and the air conditioning was great, the balcony view was great as you could see the pool and the sea. Going to sleep there is good as the bed is comfy, there is aircon which keeps you cool and there is an electronic blind you can put down to block the sun from the balcony doors. However annoyingly we were still woken up by the sun because it came in through the bathroom window (which has no blinds or curtains) shined through the glass door, onto the huge mirror and reflected onto the bed. My biggest gripe by far was the wasps, I have never seen so many in one place. The first 3 mornings at breakfast I must of seen between 5-15 of them congregated where the fresh fruit and juice was. I hate wasps and it got to the point where I couldn't eat comfortably because they would fly around me and eventually crawl onto my food despite my best efforts to waft them away. This happened every single morning and the breakfast was average so for a few days I actually ended up skipping breakfast despite paying for it because I knew I was just going to be swarming wasps away. I didn't see hardly any in anywhere else in Argassi so the hotel clearly has a wasp problem. Also the spare sun beds to the right of the hotel on the grass were infested with them flying through the grass so we avoided that side. The prices are slightly more expensive than the town, it can be quite difficult to cross the road to get to Argassi as it's on a bend and the paths are narrow. So to summarise, the hotel is nice but has a wasp problem near the food and grass areas so be mindful of this before booking.
