The reservation and pre check-in experience were pleasant, and the property looks charming at first glance. However, the place feels dated. Several small issues quickly take away from the stay. The rooms are poorly laid out for their size, the ACs are very noisy, and two of our three rooms had to be changed after the first night due to noise and bathroom design (one had the shower over the WC, leaving everything wet). Breakfast was limited, average, and always cold. Wi-Fi was patchy, light switches were not by the bedside, and the walls looked unclean. The pool and garden areas are pretty, and other meals ordered at the property were freshly prepared and homely. The staff were helpful and prompt, especially George. Overall, the stay was not memorable for the right reasons.

The whole team at Alfred Place is wonderful, with George being stellar. He went above and beyond helping us with organising tickets, reservations etc. a generally being an excellent host.

I stayed at Alfred Place two times already. First one was late Nov 2024, this 2nd time for two weeks between late October and early Nov 2025. The staff is very warm and generous. I particularly like the Kerala breakfast that they serve on some days. I chose this hotel because of the pool and the garden, as well as the wooden Kerala furniture / architecture . After returning to Kochi many times, this is by far my favourite place to stay.

Very calm and quite property away from city noise. Walkable distance to beach. Room and property was well clean and maintained. Inhouse restaurant with good food and service. Swimming pool was clean and got enough time to enjoy! Very good atmosphere, highly recommended !

Calm serene cozy getaway in the heart of fort cochin ,all places to visit was nearby Pool was nice and well maintained with enough parking space ,children played in the small play area just enough for them lovely place for yoga , meditation and enough place to walk around with trees all around and above all smiling faces around and homely warm good food above all price was perfect for the pocket . Feel like coming again

From the very moment we attempted to book the property, everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were neat, the premise was serene and beautifully maintained, the location was also really good, and everything was nearby. George was really sweet and enthusiastic about suggesting local places to visit, restaurants to try, and food to eat, which really helped. Anandu was always very polite and really helpful with each request we had, and hosted us with utmost attention. Ashik served us the best food. The only reason for my Kochi visit was Kerala delicacies, which both my husband and I enjoy to the soul, and Ashik served us some of the best we could have. He even shared a couple of recipes, which I will definitely try, and that is definitely the best souvenir to keep and enjoy. Overall, I highly recommend them and the place. The traditional old villa is really charming, with a cute pool to enjoy, and the entire staff is really sweet and warm.

Calm and quite place to stay in the middle of busy place. . Highlight thing is the well maintained swimming pool. We enjoyed the stay there. Reception staff also good. Breakfast also tasty. Location of the hotel also very nice , walkable distance to the beach.

I so wanted to rate this hotel higher but we had a series of issues on our stay. We may have just been unlucky on the 3 nights we stayed. The positives: - Beautiful hotel and gardens - Rooms are nicely appointed, comfy beds, AC and fan - Pool was clean - Conveniently located to everything in Fort Kochi - Staff were friendly and helpful, check in easy, a car and driver for us for a day trip. Where it went wrong: - No hot water in 3 of our rooms for multiple nights - Breakfast was ok, no menu and no explanation of what we could have - Dirty plate left near the pool for 3 days Suggest booking the garden rooms as they are away from the reception area. The Cozy classic rooms are all in the main building and just outside these are the reception area and a pool table which are a bit noisy sometimes.

Had an amazing experience. The ambiance is charming, with beautifully restored colonial architecture. All the staffs are very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Perfect location for exploring historic Kochi. Highly recommend!
