A very pleasant place — a spacious and well-equipped apartment with two balconies. The pool and gym are open until 9 p.m., so we managed to use them. Above all, the hosts were very accommodating — from an early check-in to packed breakfasts for our early departure to the airport.
I felt myself like at home. The appartment was big , well equiped kitchen and bathroom.Spa is nice and the outside area too.Unfortunately we could t USE the pool due to rainy weather.Breakfast is also satisfactory!Highly reccomdnded!
Alto do Forte es un hotel maravilloso. Peque?o, discreto, limpísimo, moderno y el apartamento es muy muy acogedor. Este hotel ha sido un motivo importante para que nuestra estancia en Sao Miguel haya sido de 10.
Door een staking moesten we noodgedwongen een accommodatie zoeken om te overbruggen voor de volgende vlucht. Alto do Forte kwam als optie naar voren. We zijn fantastisch geholpen door Jo?o. We konden al eerder gebruik maken van de faciliteiten en al eerder in het zeer luxe appartement die ook nog eens zonder extra kosten was geupgraded zodat de kinderen in een eigen kamer konden slapen. Op de dag van vertrek konden we de koffers bewaakt opslaan en voordat we naar het vliegveld gingen nog even douchen en omkleden. Het appartementen complex ligt centraal, is luxe en met een kleine welness en zwembad. Zelfs zeezicht. Ons (noodgedwongen) langer verblijf werd zo heel aangenaam met dank aan het zeer vriendelijke en hulpvaardige personeel!
5-star luxury apt stay A++!
Absolutely 5-star gem of an accommodation! We arrived early morning from Newark and were warmly welcomed by the staff, they stored our luggage and did everything they could to get our room readied. Over the next few days we went cliff diving, swimming, trekking, sightseeing and enjoyed a tremendous variety of delicious Portuguese cuisine and were given excellent local tips on weather/tides/whale sightings and more from the extremely informative staff. The amenities were brand new and worked extremely well: hot tub, pool, gym, sauna and more.

Let me start with the positive; the staff is very nice. Unfortunately, the facility itself falls short of any expectations. Starts with the rooms (smaller than published. Ours had a "staff only" room as a part of it and only after two days we were advised it is actually a part of our facility). However, the worst part was the noise. Came from a few sources; the garage ventilation system, the hot water boiler (which is in the balcony, so forget about sitting there after a shower) and the AC. Some can be fixed, other parts are structural, so unless you are sleep in a noisy environment you should reconsider. Breakfast is far from what was described, but this is my personal taste.

Colazione eccellente, letti comodi, stanza spaziosa. Personale squisito, gentilissimo. La posizione è piuttosto centrale. In meno di 15 minuti a piedi si raggiunge il centro. Tutto lo staff era disponibilissimo a suggerire preziose informazioni , importanti per visitare l'isola.
