I stayed a Friday night in June the single room near the courtyard. I loved it! Take some earplugs if the sound of the road bothers you (the revellers outside also finished up about midnight), but it’s all quite welcome noise in a way. Otley is a lovely town. My room was so cosy, clean and characterful too. Perfect to pop down for a pint. Bring your own breakfast since it is not on offer.

It wasnt the worst place Ive ever stayed but it was expensive for what it was. The decor was very tired and pretend French,it just didnt work somehow. Small things were wrong like knob off wardrobe door and bath plug didn't work.Breakfast was very good though

Working in the area and stayed for 1 night and will certainly stay again when down that way Great, friendly, helpful staff. Room was fine and quite large. Plenty of parking space. Had dinner and breakfast, meals really good. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great Host and Room
A fantastic host and welcome and the room was superb!

On the edge of town. A bit of a hike from the train station and even farther from the Cathedral. Room size was ok. Very small bathroom. Not an issue with us; but may prove a problem with a large (oversized person). Room was very warm and bed smaller than we are used too. Although we paid for two nights, we left after one to a Hilton to be closer to town. Breakfast was fine.

I had a choice of hotels in Leeds or the Black Horse. I'm so glad I chose the latter. Some extra driving, but great to be in a historic building in a historic area, and so close to the motorway and service station.

As soon as we entered the building we were welcomed with a smile and a warm friendly lady. All the staff were accommodating and friendly. Stayed in room 15 this has a fantastic view and the room is just lovely and clean. One of the best rooms we have stayed in, even has a welcome basket with 2 bottle ales, 2 waters and snacks. Robes and slippers included. It also has a podded coffee machine! Had food both nights and breakfast on both days, all the food was well presented and delicious. One night the restaurant was fully booked but made sure they fitted us in as they prioritize residents. Overall would highly recommend this hotel and would 100% come back.

Got to be worst hotel in Newton Stewart. 4night stay ￡480 no breakfast so bed only. No night time food or bar except thur and Friday Internet non existent. Tried calling number to complain no answer. Honestly I’d be better off with tent in a field. More money spent on the lights for a beer garden which never gets used

Lovely stay - need some bottled water in the room as unable to fill kettle it kept coming out warm from the tap so unable to drink
