I'll start with the good. The restaurant was excellent. My parter and I really enjoyed our meals and the staff were extremely polite and the service was excellent. If I was judging Carreg bran based on this alone I'd have given it an excellent review. The reasons why I'm giving it a 2 is because of the state of the room particularly the bathroom. The mirror in the Leo room is awful with a lobsided contraption above it. The shower was barely warm and on the outside window there were two big dollops of bird poo. The noise coming from downstairs was bordering on deafening until midnight. I enjoy listening to Michael Jackson and Dafydd Iwan as much as anyone but not to such a noisy level and the above really spoilt the experience for us. One minor thing was that the hangers provided were from stores selling childrens clothes which made the room look a bit tacky. The TV on the wall was very small compared to what you would usually see in a hotel and the signal wasn't always the best. I would give the restaraunt and the staff 9/10 but the room a very generous 2/10.

A stop off close to Holyhead for our following morning ferry to Ireland close to the Menai straights A decent room A bit of an up and down trek to find, it Some of the decor is showing its age with threadbare carpet in places. A newly re vamped shower but the bathroom door was showing rot at the bottom. A decent chef because the evening meal was excellent and freshly cooked, a serve yourself cooked breakfast

Recently stayed at Carreg Bran for a wedding. The wedding was lovely, but the rooms were a disappointment. They needed a lot of work doing to them and a deep clean! The breakfast the following morning was nothing to write home about either.

Rooms and building are not the greatest. Building in general needs repair but the restaurant is superb really good food and massive portions. Could not finish the carbonara

This hotel is one of two halves, let’s start with the bad then move onto the good. The hotel itself is tired looking, the rooms are basic, tired and do have a few faults. The water in my room was either boiling hot or off and the TV didn’t work. But on the other hand it wasn’t expensive. Now the good. The food! It’s really good! The chef can really cook and the restaurant staff are just lovely! So if you’re looking for a good meal and a nice drink, I’ll recommend it! So, to summarise, the hotel isn’t the best, tired and worn out, but the restaurant and bar are top notch!

We stayed here for the Anglesey show, a great price deal. The hotel has seen lots of life in its hay day, the bar,staff and food were fantastic, the room was pretty tired but it was bang on for the price and would sure stay there again..

As soon as i pulled into the carpark I could see how run down it was looking, got greeted at the reception with "hi gorgeous"by a man who obviously didn't know how to use an iron! Quite a walk to the room going upstairs then down again, no lift and carpet threadbare on stairs, handrails sticky. The room felt damp and the bathroom smelt awful, the shower was ancient and black mold on the grout. The bedding and towels were clean and there were toiletries and tea and coffee. The whole place needs a refurb, the breakfast looked like it had been standing under the hot lamp for an hour so didn't eat there on an evening. Some of the staff were nice others made you feel it was an effort to serve you. Definitely wouldn't go back or recommend to anyone.

Stayed in the hotel, a little bit run down but the food and staff made up for it. Waitresses Georgia and Katy were an amazing help and very kind. Food was lovely too, would recommend the salmon fillet as that’s what me and my wife had. Would recommend.

After going to a pre-booked hotel and finding nothing as it was described, we beat a hasty retreat and found Carreg Bran. The gentleman on reception when we arrived couldn’t have been more helpful. The bar, restaurant, & garden areas were lovely. The accommodation areas are good but do need a little bit of TLC, however it was clean and tidy and we are looking forward to the changes the new owners have begun and are going to do as we will definitely be returning regularly.

Had Sunday lunch. Warm welcome. Young staff. Good food. Menu wasn’t priced, so we had to ask. Ordered Mussels. No finger bowl or bowl for shells. Had to ask. Overall though a very good experience.
