Everything was fantastic, room, view, staff, location, and food. Extremely impressed by such a help and kind staff. They will go out of their way to assist in any way possible. The rooms are a 10, views are incredible and 2nd floor deck is great for a peaceful glass of wine or tea. Highly recommend.

This place is dreamy! Perched on a steep incline on the path to Corniglia with stunning views of the Mediterranean! The host was wonderful and allowed us to leave our bags to start our hike until the room was ready. The actual space was comfortable, modern yet charming with a great bathroom/shower. We enjoyed complimentary homemade cake and cappuccinos in the morning and an incredible dinner at their restaurant (again with unreal views). Casa Cato is ideally located near the train station and super close to the path to Monterroso and to Corniglia. This is one of our favorite experiences on our 15 days in Italy. Brava! Grazie Mille.

Spent 4 days in Vernazza and Casa Cato was the perfect place to stay. The Hosts were great , made check in easy and restaurant located in the building that served coffee and cake in am and great meals at night. Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Great view of the Ligurian sea. Yes it is near the train station, a bit of a hike up to the rooms and the recycle place is right below. You can hear the trains at night if you are a light sleeper but the location and staff made up for the minor inconveniences. Highly recommended as a central place to stay when visiting Cinque Terre.

As you navigate the winding roads of Cinque Terre, the scent of the sea guides you to Casa Cato, a charming boutique hotel perched atop a hill. Arriving by car, we parked and were shuttled to the vicinity before ascending the hill on foot. Following the provided directions, we found ourselves in the cozy confines of "Lisa," our quaint room with its fluttering linen curtains and a balcony unveiling a breathtaking panorama. The attention to detail was evident, from the crisp linens to the plush towels and well-appointed bathroom stocked with indulgent amenities. The thoughtful tea and coffee setup, complete with assorted sugars and packaged chocolates, added an extra touch of luxury. Welcomed by hospitable staff, we learned of the daily coffee and pastry service during room cleaning hours. Cinque Terre's enchanting allure awaits, a haven for those seeking both adventure and serenity amidst its rugged trails and coastal vistas. Casa Cato embodies perfection, offering everything one could desire in a hotel stay. Nestled amidst the vibrant hues of Cinque Terre, its secluded rooms provide a serene retreat amid the bustling charm of the region.

We were only here for one night, which was way too short, but Lorena greeted us with cappuccinos and spent a lot of time helping us get our hiking passes and to determine the best routes for our available time. Her trail recommendations were perfect, and while the towns were busy in the final weekend of summer, we had a lot of solitude on the trails. We watched the sunset as we ate a delicious dinner overlooking the town of Vernazza. I had pasta pomodoro with burata (the best so far) and my husband had swordfish steak with roasted potatoes which he thoroughly enjoyed. The bed was very comfortable. The room is small, but well designed and we had a place for everything. We didn’t find the climb from the train station to be too cumbersome and the hotel kindly let us store our bags on our final day so we could explore the town unencumbered. We highly recommend hiking early before 7 to Monterosso. It was not crowded and the views with a sunrise glow were magical. We will return!

If you’re staying in Vernazza, check the location of your hotel to the train station. Casa Cato is quaint, very small but. Lean and Lorena is a wonderful, informative host. The hotel is built above the train station and beside the rubbish and bottle recycling bins. If you’re a light sleeper you’ll need ear plugs or you’ll be kept awake all night with trains, station announcements and bottles smashing as they hit the recycling bins.

Casa Cato is amazing! Wonderful rooms, spectacular view and great hospitality! We looked forward to our morning "planning sessions" with Lorena who gave us amazing tips and helped us organize our day! The restaurant on site was our favorite meal so far! We loved it here!

Any of the 6 rooms at this boutique hotel will get you the BEST view of all of Vernazza. Bed was most comfortable of the 3 hotels we stayed in. Friendly and helpful staff as well. What more can you want? Consider yourself lucky if a room is available.

My husband and I finally got to Vernazza after a planned trip was postponed due to Covid. Our experience at Casa Cato could not have been better! Sara, at Casa Cato, was able to arrange to have someone meet us at the train station and carry our 2 carryon suitcases up the paths/stairs to Casa Cato. It was a huge help! Once there, we were amazed at the breathtaking views, from our room and balcony, as well as the outdoor restaurant of Casa Cato. Lenora helped us make plans each day, which were always incredible. I will daydream about our experience at Casa Cato for the rest of my life!

La situation en plein Vernazza, la chambre et sa grande salle de bain, la terrasse et sa vue dont on ne se lasse pas : tout s’est révélé parfait pendant ces 4 jours dans la Camere Lisa. L’accueil, la disponibilité et les riches explications tous les matins de Lisa (autour d’un café/croissant offert) ont rendu ce séjour encore plus agréable. Tous ses conseils nous ont permis de passer des journées inoubliables. Alors oui on entend les trains mais ?a ne nous a pas dérangé. Vraiment, 5 jours au Cinque Terre comme on en rêvait et Casa Cato y a grandement contribué. Je recommande vivement Encore merci Lisa ainsi qu’à l’équipe. Claire & Emmanuel
