Lovely homely place to stay. Although the villas are part of a complex, they felt very private. Good laundry facilities onsite. Lovely warm welcome from Christine in reception. Borrowed DVDs from reception to watch in the in room DVD player. New World supermarket only a few minutes away: good kitchen facilities to allow you to eat in. A great place from which to visit Tongariro park.

I found this to be a much better place than I thought it would be, being a non fisherman. We only had a brief overnight but we were welcomed warmly and given a whole bottle of milk for our hot drinks. In the room we had tea and coffee. There was also a large fridge and kitchenette with all the necessary items to self cater. Our room was pine clad and I thought this might be worn and dark but in fact the suite was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The bathroom included toiletries and hairdryer. The only two things to point out were that the tv wasn’t working well and the only international channel had a lot of interference, and the walls are thin so vulnerable to nuisance noise from your neighbours. Fortunately no problem in our case. The grounds were lovely.

This motel is excellent. The room and furnishings are high quality, and there is plenty of “space” for everything so it is not cramped like many motels. There is a decent kitchenette, bathroom, loungeroom, a table and chairs, and a large bedroom. It really is very comfortable. The car spaces are large, and there are lots of outdoor BBQs and so forth.

我其实有点懒，不爱写评论。但这家酒店太令人惊喜了。一间间木屋错落有致的分散在庭院里，正值早春，蒙蒙细雨中落英缤纷，美的如诗如画。房间设施齐全，居然有配备电热毯。这次只是在去威灵顿中途短暂停留，因为太喜欢这家宾馆了，下次我特别想专门来这个小镇住上两三天。

I love coming here every year at the biggest house in creel lodge! And my Parents, Parents live here? And do maintance for free around the lodge?!?!?! ............................................................................

We booked for one night and arrived as planned. We were gutted to find that we had booked for Feb 25th and not Jan 25th. The owner was absolutely outstanding and immediately started calling all the motels in the area to try and find us a room. She was so incredibly helpful! With it being a public holiday weekend, all were full. She was not daunted and spread the search wider, we eventually managed to book into a hotel in Okahune. We were disappointed with our mistake as we had been looking forward to stay here, the reviews are so good.

This fairly simple motel is exceptionally good value. The small suite with kitchen was very comfortable, clean and quiet. It made for an excellent night after a day hiking in Tongariro. And it has the benefit of a lovely little cafe next door for breakfast, with some very friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend.

We booked here as we were doing the Tongariro Crossing and wanted to base ourselves somewhere quiet. Creel Lodge didn't disappoint. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. The bedroom, bathroom and living room were large and spotlessly clean. The kitchenette was well equipped and the whole place was tranquil with a little seating area out the front. The motel is laid out so that you have plenty of privacy in front of your window. Highly recommend.

Always a favourite. Clean, well appointed, quiet, comfortable. And a peaceful river walk just outside the gate. Been coming for 50 years; The Creel never disappoints. A destination in itself, for us, even without the mountains and the lake.
