We booked a castle as the image shows, but the actual hotel was next door- totally misrepresenting the accommodation. Feeling hoodwinked!

I booked this hotel because I thought it would be fun to stay in a castle on our trip to Scotland. This is a castle in a convention center and hotel complex- not a quaint castle hotel. When I booked there was no mention of the hotel attached and so I assumed that we would be in the historic castle hotel. This was not the case. The hotel itself was nice, spacious and clean, but expensive and not at all cozy. We had a drink at the castle bar which was very nice. The restaurant was nice, but expensive and not anything special.
I wish I had known what this place was all about, because I was disappointed. I wish I had researched it a little more.

So I really wanted to stay at a castle while in Scotland and this said it was a castle. What they don't tell you is that there is a hotel attached to the castle and unless your room specifically says castle it is not in the castle.
Disappointment aside the hotel was lovley and clean, my biggest complaint was that the heated floors in the bathroom never shut off- and we searched high and low- for a switch. It is an unnecessary waste of energy to be heated all the time and quite honelsty was way too hot.
The restaurant and staff were delightful, although we were charged a 10pound per person entertainment fee that was not mentioned until we received the check.

The castle was beautiful and with a pleasant environment. The staff was very hospitable, friendly, and helpful. The dining and entertainment didn’t dining was a pleasant experience. The food was delicious and they had a large selection and variety. We loved the pre-drink cocktail option prior to being sat for sining.

The hotel part of the campus is only 3months old and everyrhing is gleaming. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Our upgraded double room was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and taking a peek into the public room of the castle. The breakfast was also excellent.

Concierge service was outstanding. Our hosts assisted us with every need we had from general questions and recommendations, to making reservations and providing transportation services. The nightclub and breakfast staff, food, drinks, and atmosphere were fabulous.

Beautiful property, grounds maintained by a team of gardeners, hotel and restaurant staff outstanding with help offered all the time. Trocadero’s Restaurant with a varied menu and live entertainment. What an experience!!

Perfect day
From start to finish it was beautiful.
Room was spotless
Afternoon Tea was delicious.
We had such goid weather yesterday too, siting outside having a few refreshments, then in to The St.Andews hospice ball at night.
Breakfast was amazing too...would highly recommend this place, nothing is too much bother.

The hotel estate at Crossbasket Castle was absolutely wonderful! I think (and i could be wrong about this) that the hotel part has only been open a few months as of May 2025. So there were some minor issues we experienced (television food not work in my friend's room and hot water in the tub in my room had terrible water pressure so it took 45 minutes to fill the tub for a soak), but other than minor inconveniences it was a wonderful stay on a beautiful property. We weren't able to explore the property until the day we left since there was a wedding booked there, but it was altogether a wonderful stay (and the bed was a dream!)!

Mehr als wir erwarten konnten!
Crossbasket Castle ist ein wirklich aussergew?hnliches Hotel.
Speziel das Hauptgeb?ude, also das Schloss, ist wundersch?n.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer im neuen Neben-Geb?ude gebucht, dass auch 5Sterne entspricht, aber auf eine moderne Art und Weise.
Auf Nachfrage, wurden wir in die "McIntosh Suite" ins Schloss upgegradet.
Ein phantasticher Service, denn hier hatten wir 70qm zu unserer Verfügung, ohne jeden Aufpreis.
Wir k?nnen daher das Hotel und den Service nur hervorheben und loben.
