Very good location, close to center. We ask for a laundry and it was delivered although it’s not a typical service here. Very family and friendly atmosphere, a lot of pets around. Some rooms with double terrace which is perfect for chilling. Very good breakfasts!

What an amazing oasis in an otherwise pretty charmless town! It’s hard to believe how quiet the setting is, how clean and spacious the rooms are, how modern the bathroom, how generous the Sri Lankan breakfast, and how idyllic it feels, and how close it is to the main ***** in Dambulla--all at amazingly low price. This family-run (adult daughter & father) makes for a very comfortable and convenient base for exploring Sigiriya, Anuradhapura, and Polonnaruwa, all reachable by public transport or hired taxi, and for onward travel to the east coast, Kandy, Colombo etc. If it weren’t for Dambulla Rock Arch, I might not recommend staying in the town of Dambulla despite its convenient location. Initially there was some problems communicating with the daughter and father, but they proved to be such accommodating and gracious hosts, even getting up super early to make egg sandwiches for my friend and me to take on our sunrise hike at Sigirya (tip: do both--Pidurangala Rock and Sigirya, they are very different experiences and both are very worth while). I thought that the mosquito “tents” were really cool and effective, but I did find it a pain that the electricity turned off every time you locked the door, which meant that the fridge wasn’t keep cool. I did find a way around this though…. Really recommended.
