We had a perfect 5 nights stay at Designer Cottage (Heritage building) in August ’24. Chet & Steve were amazing/excellent hosts and the Cottage is a home away from home. The Cottage has a very peaceful and inviting garden setting in a quiet location. No requests from us were too difficult. Daily delicious breakfasts sourced from local ingredients were one of the highlights of our stay. The cottage is walking distance to shops, restaurants and Christchurch city centre of /attractions. Wished we discovered this B&B Cottage earlier and comes highly recommended when one is in Christchurch!

Chet and Steve had been a very good host. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and cosy. Walking distance to the town area. There are many planted apples, pears, plum trees, lavenders, etc. if I will visit Christchurch again, I will definitely choose to stay at the same place again

Nice property. Very quaint heritage home. Liked the hosts and breakfast. Located close to the CBD, with an uber trip to the CBD costing about $11 (or a half hour walk if you prefer). The shared bathroom is a bit inconvenient for the price but otherwise good.

Very good place to stay, nice and quiet with friendly staff. They went out and bought some Weetbix for me, as I could not eat nut based cereals. Gone the extra, nice grounds and the guys were great hosts. Safe location as well. Some features a bit dated though, no USB points in the building and the bed was wire sprung and quite uncomfortable. But these are minor affluenza based complaints. Room size was really generous and private, sunny and nice couches and sitting area. The price was attractive too and nice grounds, a lot of friendly felines drop by too. Great for solo travellers, couples and tourists. However if you have tech savvy types, probably not the best place.

Had a 2n stay here about 10 min easy drive to the CBD. Room was a bit dated and cramped but clean. There are rooms in main house but didn't see them. Very good breakfast served by Chet and Steve who are very good hosts. Quiet neighbourhood with a great Thai/Viet restaurant 5 mins away called Zaffron.

Friendly hosts! Great continental breakfast with Gluten free options available and fresh fruit from the garden! Comfortable bed and we had the on suite shower room which had everything you would need. Close to lots of shops and places to eat! Plenty on road parking in safe street!

Fantastic host great accomodation. Wonderful breakfast cereal and toast with international travelers. Host go above and beyond to be helpful and thoughtful highly recommend great location walking distance from all sorts of foods looked after our car for us. Genuine people
