This place was in a great location. We could walk to everything and it was very comfortable. We would stay there again.

This was like a boutique hotel. Small and nice. Friendly staff. It is close to King street where most of the nice shopping is found. We really enjoyed our stay at Elliott house.

Price: high. Amenities: few. Service: non-existent.
No parking. No breakfast. Room not adequately
cleaned. Electricity (overhead lights) spotty.

Comfortable room, no bar/lounge, front desk closes
The listing says 24-hour service/ front desk and that there is a bar/lounge 9n property, neither of which is true - there’s not even a lobby and front desk closed at 10, I barely made it there in time to check in. Lovely bar next door (completely unrelated to hotel), but that’s not what was advertised. Front desk manager was unapologetic, definitely wasn’t feeling that southern hospitality.

This review is coming from a married couple that has stayed in several boutique hotels around downtown Charleston in the last 2 years. The Elliott was by far the worst. If this was a $100 room it wouldn't be so bad. But it was over $300 for a queen room for one night on our 32-year wedding anniversary, New Year's Eve.
I called on the phone prior to check in. It was hard to understand the clerk over the phone. High pitched quick answers that didn't really seem to make sense. I asked to upgrade from a queen to a King and the reply was inaudible. I think they said "full up", but couldn't tell after I asked again. Parking garage across the street was $20 overnight. No restaurant or lounge attached to this hotel. Courtyard was filthy dirty. Exterior of the building was dirty. Window from our room looking out into a filthy alleyway. Toilet was dirty. The staff wasn't rude, but just not friendly at all.

The inn is a historical property on the National Registry, which prompted us to book it--however, old doesn't mean the room has to be dusty and shabby. In addition, there was no housekeeping during our 5 night stay. If you wanted fresh towels, you had to go downstairs and pick them up yourselves. Very disappointed and underwhelmed with this inn!
