We recently stayed as a family and had a fantastic time. From the very beginning, the service and friendliness of the staff were simply brilliant — it truly felt like nothing was too much trouble. They were especially kind and welcoming to our little girl, which made the stay even more special for us. We ate in both the hotel restaurant and the relaxed lounge, and both experiences were excellent. The food, service, and overall atmosphere were spot on. We also made use of the cinema room, which was a real treat to come back to after a long day exploring, and the spa area was great too. Our room was fantastic — a great size, beautifully decorated, and a perfect family space with incredible views. Although the weather was awful during our stay, the amazing location and views of the beach below made it feel even more dramatic and spectacular. A special mention goes to Patrick on reception, as well as a lovely Romanian member of staff whose name we didn’t get—both were incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ve stayed at a hotel where the level of guest service was so consistently high from everyone we encountered, and this was echoed by other guests we spoke to as well. There were just a couple of very minor negatives—the jacuzzi was out of service due to cleaning, and the letterbox in Room 15 was slightly damaged, which meant the wind howled through on the stormy nights. Aside from that, it was a brilliant stay. Thank you to everyone who made it so special—outstanding staff in a fantastic location. Also the breakfast in amazing 10/10

We had a good weekend and the accommodation was great . Also the restaurant food was good but very expensive. HOWEVER when we were there the spa pool, steam room and pool showers were all out of order. For a spa hotel this is what you have gone for! NOT good at all. We were given a bit of a refund at check out , which eased the pain slightly but I wouldn’t rush back as I see from reviews this is not the first time they have had issues. We all had treatments in the spa which were all lovely but tricky to book unless you book far in advance.

Stayed two nights with my wife and dog, we had a wonderful stay, after reading the reviews I was concerned about being dog friendly or not and I have to say they were very accommodating and welcoming of my dog, the only place she couldn’t go was the main restaurant but I think that’s good, all other areas of the hotel was fine. The food was amazing for dinner and breakfast and the drinks list and options were very good. It maybe remote but you need to see it to believe it as well worth it for the views once you arrive and wake up each day. Yes I agree pricy for what you get in terms of nightly rate, but the staff and quality of food makes it worth it overall. If you want views and friendly staff, stay here !! Well done Naomi for leaving a great impression on us and we will be back.

Gara Rock hotel is just spectacular. When you arrive here you enter another world. Be prepared for weak phone signal, but that is the only negative. The views are breathtaking, the food is above expectations (both quality and portion size). You feel pampered just being here. We had 3 days here and enjoyed several short coastal walks. Being able to then return to luxury accommodation, jacuzzi, steam room and more, well, memories are made here.

All was exemplary but the extra special something was the staff. Wow was a team! First visit but will be back.

It was my birthday so we decided to take a walk somewhere new, with the bonus we might be able to grab a coffee afterwards. It is a busy dog walking area on the south west coast path so a great opportunity for passing trade. Hotel looked lovely inside but service was shocking. Shown to a table and not given menus, had to ask for these. Ordered 3 coffees and two ciders, teenagers wanted something so enquired about cakes/chips - no menu offered but asked about chips and ordered three portions and a brownie. Chips arrived were eaten and still no drinks - had to go and chase these! Chips were lovely but very small portions. Bill came to ￡61 which was extortionate for terrible service, 5 x drinks and 3 x chips - our fault, should have looked at the prices but did not possibly expect those prices along with very poor service - you have been warned!

Great location and a good standard throughout in terms of all the facilities. Staff were lovely and restaurant was very good.

Lovely hotel, laid back with a chilled ambience but excellent standards. The rooms are very comfortable, clean & well provided. Excellent value on a mid-week break in January. Charming & helpful staff. The pool is very nice. It is very isolated along a single track road so be aware of that if you want to eat out at different places in the evenings.

Fantastic views and facilities. Service was excellent and food was amazing. Very relaxed atnosphere. Highly reccomend for a weekend getaway.
