Our name is Lighthouse View because when our business first opened in 1952 we had a front row seat to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse! When the lighthouse was relocated in summer of '99, our view changed a bit! However, in some of our units you can still see the lighthouse beacon at night! Thank you Laurie for taking the time to review! We apologize your experience wasn't the best! We would have loved to have made it up to you during your stay, but we were never alerted to any issues. We will be sending maintenance to check for any sharp edges on the boarder that surrounds the kitchen tile, as safety is an upmost priority to us! As for the beach erosion, it is true we have had some erosion this winter, but remain hopeful that Mother Nature will give back this season! If you choose to return, you may always check out our Facebook page weekly for Current Conditions of our beach with pictures, that way there are never any surprises!When we first built our property in 1952, the Lighthouse was 100% visible, which is why the name was chosen! However, when the Lighthouse was relocated in 1999, our view changed! As a result, you can now see the Lighthouse from many of our units, but not all. Ground level, the level you were on, does not have a view of the Lighthouse, but if you do return, our Top Level Suites have a much more clear view!We thank you for staying with us and appreciate your feedback!
