Awesome place with tons of character and seeing how old it is, very well maintained- had the mellower 2 bed/ non- romantic room (Antique Cars) and it was rad! Clean, lots of amenities, even robes!
Bucket list finally marked off on this stay!

Wonderful ambiance overall. Beautiful grounds, pool area, mountain ranch views. Loved the restaurants and the kitshy decor, fantastic for Valentine's!

The room was beautiful, smelt nice, everything seemed very clean, we could still see the vacuum marks in the carpet. The grounds are lovely, the surrounding areas are beautiful, there’s horse back riding, hiking trails, pool, jacuzzi, full spa, restaurant and bars as well.

Love the quirky theme rooms. Came for a wedding and it was gorgeous! Great restaurants and bar. Lovely grounds and pool.

This is such a unique place to stay, each room is decorated in its own theme, including rock walls and waterfalls in some of the bathrooms.
It's quiet, despite being just off the freeway, except for a chorus of frogs to sing you to sleep. Staff is wonderful and helpful, and the food is great!

Don’t get me wrong, love me some Madonna inn. However I do think they could stand to and can afford to do some minor upgrades and add some helpful touches. For example: the coffee pots are poor quality and take too way long. Had to replace the first one and the one they replaced it with was almost just as bad. How about upgrading to keurigs?
Also the lighting in our room was very frustrating. Lovely bedside lamps & a sweet chandelier (a carousel horse!) that could only be turned off & on with all the other lights by a switch, not individually; they did have dimmers but it was very all or nothing and not helpful. The sink in our room was very slow to drain. Just fixing little issues like these could make all the difference and could help sustain the old kitsch & character for so much longer. Love the place, love the pool and garden and the restaurants & the food. That said, the restaurant could use some improvements too—like fixing the wobbly tables—kinda unacceptable in a place like this. Oh well can’t have it all. I just figure they can’t fix it if they don’t know there are issues so that’s my 2 cents.

The San Francisco room was fun! The themes are amazing, bedding towels and bathroom were clean. The pool and steakhouse here are amazing.
Just as a note for expectations, the themed elements of the room include furniture and carpet that are fairly old. So, they do show age and wear in a few spots.
We will stay here again if in the area, and would love to try another themed room. The kids thought it was so much more fun than a regular boring hotel room.

The Madonna Inn is kind of a California institution that you should stay at at least once. The design is one of a kind. Definitely have breakfast there (delicious biscuits!) Nice service. The bed and pillows weren't the most comfortable and didn't love the coffee set-up in the room (like airport coffee). So rooms kind of 3 stars, but hotel more of a 4.

We have wanted to stay at the Madonna Inn for years and are ecstatic that we finally did! It was wonderful!
