Room very comfortable with large bathroom. However the floorboards between end of bed and the steps into the bathroom are very noisy.

A perfect mix of top quality food and excellent customer service. I need to avoid gluten and was delighted with the options availble. John was friendly funny and extremely helpful. We will definitely come back.

Food excellent as always but the service was dismal.having asked for another glass of wine it took nearly 20 minutes to arrive as did the water. We had bread with seaweed butter to start followed by mussels and chicken all very tasty but it took ages we arrived at midday and got the bill at 1.45 ish which seemed a long long wait It used to be fast and slick at this restaurant but lately very slow. We are regular visitors and hope things will improve as the food is A1.

Perfectly located for exploring the surrounding area. Receptionist really friendly and helpful.

Very strange ordering system in restaurant ,no one explained that we needed to fill in a ticket with our choices and take to the bar. Luckily a kind gentleman on the next table who had been before noticed our dilemma and told us. Very comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms but rooms are cluttered and over furnished.

Had a lovely afternoon and evening yesterday.. lovely food and drinks and just want to say a big thank you to John our waiter.. he made our day he is great we loved him.. Thanks John from Jane, Lisa, Lynn and Katie.. we will be back soon xx

We had the pleasure last week to visit Milton hotel in Dedham and what a beautiful quaint area this is. We were super lucky to have the most glorious weather on our trip and after a fabulous business meeting the restaurant and outdoor areas came alive with not a seat to be had. Great to see local support and trade from the local community enjoying themselves. I must Thankyou all (Bridget) for a splendid lunch before a lengthy journey back up to the East Midlands. You did us proud, Thankyou again for your warm welcome and hospitality.

Lovely stay, very comfortable bed. My only criticism is that the mirror in the bathroom is way too high on the wall. I'm 5ft 5 and could not see my face, no good for doing make up (room 5). Breakfast was lovely, though I had to ask for vegan sausages and there were no beans which I found unusual. Joel, who had been our waiter the night before was on duty again and went above and beyond again. Thank you!! On the whole a pleasant stay and we would definitely stay again.

After reading the good reviews for this hotel, I was rather underwhelmed with the customer service. Upon arrival and checking in, I visited the bar for lunch and a drink. The drinks took well over 30 minutes to arrive (I was shown a number of bar cheques and was told there was a backlog but my order was in the queue). The food arrived with cutlery (again with quite a wait from ordering to being served). There was no welcome at breakfast service and I even had to request a hot drink as none was offered. The ground and decor are amazing but the hotel and its facilities are let down with poor customer focus and service. Finally the room was only fit for a midget - it was in the attic with sloping and very low ceilings and was quite dangerous to move around without striking your head.
