The hotel has a lovely setting by the river and is visited by passing warthogs and elephants. The swimming pool area is lovely and this was a pleasant place to unwind after a busy week's travelling. It feels a bit impersonal and corporate, most people only spend 1 or 2 nights there on a tour. Having said that, Lynn on reception was utterly brilliant, solving several problems including tracking down missing luggage. Food was just about OK (evening fish dish was superb), but wine was poorly kept and served too warm. We sent one bottle back as it was tasteless but the staff totally failed to understand why. Our room had an interconnecting door to the adjacent room and we could hear their conversation even though they were only talking at normal levels.

This hotel is based around a colonial style house and is set beside the Zambezi River. The accommodation is of an excellent standard, as is the food. All the hotel staff are friendly and efficient and definitely enhance the stay. The best thing about the hotel is the abundance of wildlife and game that can wander and climb around the hotel, both inside and outside (impala and monkeys inside) and elephants and warthog outside the protective fence. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the area.

The Palm River Hotel was our final stay in a three week trip across three countries. The focus here was to see the Victoria Falls a short drive away and spectacular. The hotel was immaculate and all staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was perfectly situated on the ground floor with sliding glass doors to a private small terrace giving immediate access to the pool and gardens overlooking the Zambezi River. The food was delicious, an excellent breakfast buffet and dinner taken on the dining terrace on our first night. We would recommend too the breakfast cruise from the hotel which was a fabulous end to our holiday a knowledgeable friendly guide with many sightings of birds and animals along the way. Pros: The hotel is located near the Zambezi river and the reception is quite nice. Room has a nice comfy bed. There are no extras like robe, slippers, extra towels.. The entrance is through an open corridor which gives a motel like feel instead of plush and luxury. The bathroom amenities are very cheap looking and is not fit for a 5 star property. The dinner menu is so limited and there is no variation at all with specials.. the bar could not serve Dirty Martini in spite of requesting for 3 days. On the positive side the servers work hard to give you attentive service. Breakfast is great though. Save your money and choose some other property if you can..

Location is quiet and away from the hustle of town and only about 15 min drive to the Falls. Right on the Zambezi River with wildlife on property. They provide the first stocked minibar (sodas and beer) complimentary and have a nice coffee and biscuit selection in the room. Good shower pressure. While sitting in the dining room one evening, we felt as though we were in Zimbabwe during the Victorian era which was a lovely feeling. Agree with others as this is definitely not a 5 star hotel at least by US standards. Room and bath were spacious yet room lacked the extras. No robe, no slippers, no Kleenex just a little 4 in a travel pack, no proper closet or chest of drawers. The soap dish on the bathroom counter was glued down! Definitely not a 5 star trait. The check-in process was not ideal as there was another family and they gave us all the speech at the same time and the other family monopolized session. Then when she returned passports she gave all to the other family and left to us to sort out. Not very personalized service. Our room was a little tired with stained and ripped carpet. It is the little things that they seem to be missing. For example, we had a note pad but no pen, when they refreshed the coffee station, they did not refresh the sugar nor wash the spoon we used the previous day. They did not replace the Kleenex travel pack until we asked. As others have mentioned the dinner menu selection is limited (but a decent variety) and the service is very slow. We had dinner at their sister property and the food and service was much better. We booked through a package but I did an online reservation check and our room (standard) would have been $700+ a night. That is Ritz Carlton level pricing but this hotel is definitely not RC level. We are very seasoned travelers both throughout US and internationally and I am a previous hotelier so have a good sense of the various levels and would say this property is 4 star at most.

This hotel was simply exquisite! After a long journey, the ambience and location by the Zambezi River was just what we needed. The food was amazing, and the staff were friendly and provided lots of insight into the local area and life in Zimbabwe. The grounds were impeccably clean and full of flora and fauna, what was also nice to see was the abundance of wildlife freely roaming the grounds including Elephants, Warthogs, monkeys and small impala/antelope to name a few. We booked the sunset cruise and Dusty Road lunch through the hotel, both of which we highly recommend. The perfect base to venture into Zimbabwe and Zambia and of course Victoria Falls which was a 10-15 min leisurely drive away.

La bellissima struttura è nuova,inaugurato nel 2021...Zona ristorante che si affaccia sul fiume...il cibo è a buffet e dal proprio tavolo si può ammirare lo Zambesi ...il prato la piscina e la vegetazione sono lussuosissime..la sera puoi vedere gli ippopotami mangiare sulla riva,in piena sicurezza..le camere sono ampie con balcone dotate di zanzariere....servizio transfert e attività varie con l'imbarazzo della scelta...personale sempre a disposizione...location da sogno.Cascate Vittoria a pochi minuti di auto.
