Whatever expectations you have for your stay at Plato's, raise them. This was a perfect getaway even despite the rain in January. The staff made me feel like family, the food was delicious, the walk around the town of Kirkby (and along the river!) was so picturesque. I highly recommend Plato's and I'm already planning my return stay!

We booked two more stays think that says everything. Easy straight forward check in, drop bags in then parking less than 5 mins away. Rooms spotless toiletries and refreshments provided. Breakfast lovely made to order ,caffreys nice and creamy staff fantastic can't wait to return keep up the good work

We were fortunate to get a room in Plato at the last minute. The location is great, right in the heart of Kirby Lonsdale. It's a stylish and popular bar, restaurant and hotel. The UK was experiencing a rather cold snap and the hotel struggled to keep warm. Our room was cold, unfortunately. But an electric heater was provided. Breakfast seemed to take a while and was ok, but just ok. However, whenever someone else is making for me, I'm happy on the whole! We will stay here again, as it's a great location, nice vibe and comfortable enough. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. Plato's also provides a parking permit so that you can park free of charge in Kirby Lonsdale. This is a good selling point for this area. Oh and if you're partial to a cocktail, the Chilli Margarita is delicious and freshly made from scratch.

WE went to Plato's last week, 4 adult siblings and their partners. We had a wonderful night break. dinner in the restaurant was sensational, especially for the 2 vegans in the party. Such a comfortable room. They even looked after whippet royally. Every single member of staff we came across was so lovely and very helpful. Thank you so much for making our late Christmas celebration so special.

This was our fourth Christmas spent at Platos. I think that says it all! Checking in and sorting out parking is easy. The place is just what we want for an informal stay with friendly, very hard working staff who always have a smile. The food is our sort of thing. The effort put into the Christmas meal is astonishing. Even on Boxing day night which was special for us the kitchen excelled. We always choose the same room because it has a lovely view down Main Street which looks so festive with all the Christmas lights. The room is large and very clean . There are lovely walks straight from Plato's and lots of independent shops and a beautiful Church to enjoy too. We have booked again for a stay in the spring and again next Christmas. Love it here!

We have frequented Platos for a long time but this is the first time we have stayed overnight. Top marks go to the quality shower room and very comfortable bed in Standard Room 2. The dark painted walls created a cocoon effect. The only issue in this room is that the underside of the stairway juts into the room over the bed and my husband banged his head a few times getting in and out of bed. Unfortunately there would be no other position the bed could be placed to avoid this. The only other observation is that it would be helpful to have a tray on the dressing table for the cups when pouring tea/coffee to avoid damaging the finish on the table. Our meal in the restaurant was excellent, showcasing a team of evident talent. We were also impressed with the staff throughout our stay who demonstrated a strong customer focussed approach.

We recently returned for dinner after a fantastic family meal there a short while ago, and this time decided to make a proper night of it by booking a room too. The service throughout was excellent, and the room was comfortable, convenient, and just what we needed for a relaxing overnight stay. As residents, we seemed to be on an all-inclusive dining package, which didn't quite suit my preferences This time. That said, the wine selection, attentive service, and overall atmosphere made for a lovely one-night getaway, and we all had a wonderful time. Highly recommended for a quick local escape!

An absolute must to at least visit for a drink or a meal if you are not staying there! We booked a 2 night stay and from the moment we arrived through the entire stay we were absolutely delighted! The rooms are exquisitely decorated and the best linen and pillows adding to the cosy feel. The food is great and a special thanks to Kay and Liv for the welcome and service. We will definitely be back!

Our third stay at Plato's this year. Never disappoints. Hosts Jess, Tony and Kay first class and always ready to oblige. Restaurant has been refurbished to a high standard since our last stay in July. Food is top quality, well prepared and presented, with menus to cater for all tastes. Looking forward to our next stay.

Lovely room & very quiet. Great bedding & pillows. Shower was excellent. Toiletries provided. Breakfast was fabulous.
