We spent 3 nights at Platos, and on leaving we offered several comments: the bathroom ventaxia did not work, the bathroom mirror had no light directly above and steamed up badly. Most hotels have heated and well lit mirrors. The bed was luxurious and comfy, but the room was poorly lit. Breakfast was freshly cooked and good, but the room was freezing. Weirdly, the heating was only switched on by the staff when we arrived. There was no choice of cereals, only granola. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. It’s a fine building, well located and parking arrangements work well. It could be a first class hotel, but we have only rated it as average for the price.

Excellent welcome and hospitality. Great food- lovely and tasty dinner, well priced wine and great service. . Dog friendly too. Very comfortable room and super dinner and cooked breakfast.

We spent a Sunday and Monday night at Platos and would definitely come back to eat but probably not to stay overnight again. Our room (no.2) was lovely and had everything we needed but sadly it was so noisy that we were woken up several times during the night with commercial bins being moved around outside, noise from the rear stairs, door slamming, and very noisy floorboards in the room above. The guests above us were up several times in the night which woke us up each time. We suspected something was up with noise issues when we saw earplugs had been left in our room!! It’s such a shame as the food and service and ambience was absolutely superb but just too noisy for us for a sound nights sleep. We thoroughly recommend the Roast Beef…probably the best we’ve ever had!

Very nice place to stay - friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Confy beds, good bathroom and a fan in the room, which heloped a lot has it was hot! Kirby Lonsdale is a wonderful old market town and well worth a visit.

Fabulous hotel central to all shops and bars. Top class facilities. Breakfast great, cocktails fabulous, friendly and polite staff. Comfortable rooms will definitely stay again.
