Dear Raquel G Thank you for the review. We really appreciate your compliments with regards to the food, service and the exquisite lodge facilities that Shepherd's Tree offer. We are disappointed to learn that your allocated field guide gave you misleading information with regards to the availability of certain wildlife species in the park. Pilanesberg National Park is proudly a Big 5 reserve with plenty Buffaloes; however, it is expanse and spread over 57 000 hectares of wilderness land and sometimes the game moves into areas inaccessible to the safari vehicles. For this reason, spotting the Big 5 is not a given but rather a matter of chance, aided by the guide's ability to co-ordinate with others and track the game where possible. Even Kruger and other renowned game reserves doesn't guarantee you seeing the Big 5. We will address and train our team on how to relay the correct information, especially the new guides in our team.
