This hotel was perfect for our short stay. We were walkable to the beach, it was cozy, safe, and the grounds were so well manicured and tropical. But enough about that, THIS RESTAURANT WAS A AMAZING. This was some of the best food we’ve had anywhere! The menu was middle eastern inspired and so delicious. We tried the best versions of things we’ve had before and what will probably be the best versions of things that we’ll never find anywhere else. We were so lucky to have found this kitchen at our hotel.

We spent 3 nights at SoulShine as a couple and absolutely loved it. We stayed in the tree house, which was beautifully designed, very spacious, and had the most comfortable bed of our entire Costa Rica trip. The on-site restaurant is fantastic — breakfast and dinner were both excellent, with everything baked fresh (the Jerusalem bagel and spinach pastry are a must). The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the stay. The hotel is also close to a beautiful beach, perfect for surf lessons or a relaxed walk. A truly special place we won’t forget.

Soul Shine was a wonderful experience. We were greeted by the owners and the staff as soon as we came. Every one of our needs was attended to. It’s a beautiful peaceful place. The food is positively out of this world. They arranged a Christmas dinner menu of small plates. That was the best meal of our whole vacation. I can’t say enough about Soul Shine.

We were a three generation family of 11 who stayed at the wonderful SoulShine Hotel in January, 2026. The owner was simply amazing and went out of her way to make sure our stay was special. The bungalow accommodations were great, especially the new, larger units. The food at the restaurant was truly exceptional- not an exaggeration to say it was 5 star cuisine. We enjoyed the pool, the friendly poolside iguanas, and the proximity to the beach and other good restaurants. The only drawback is a rather long drive on an unpaved and rocky road to get to the resort and the howling monkeys which can disrupt sleep! All in all it was a wonderful stay and I will recommend it to friends and family.

I have been following Soul Shine on Instagram for a long time and finally made the trip this January. Yael & Roee have created something so special. The grounds are absolutely beautiful with tropical birds and howler monkeys greeting you at different times of the day. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the food is exceptional. In 15 minutes you can be on one of Costa Rica’s best beaches, and other wonderful restaurants are just minutes away. Yael and the staff are so warm and friendly and do everything to make you feel right at home. We can’t wait to go back.

Water flow was unpredictable. Pool area a bit rundown and not enough chairs. Rooms could use updating. Landscaping was not on same level as other places we stayed at. Staff was excellent.

Hello herbert.We appreciate your review and will try to fix what we can, Guanacaste is the most dry area of CR and believe it or not, we suffer from water shortage at times. We rely on municipal water that at time of great usage effects the pressure..... that is why you felt it as inconsistent, we are trying to solve it with an in house pump that will help with that. Pool area is to be renovated for next season, as you can imagine it is a huge project that will make us close the hotel for around 10 weeks... but we are aware.We are please you enjoyed our staff.

Our room was super clean. The grounds were lush and jungle like. True rainforest vibes. The staff were so helpful. They arranged our taxi from the airport and a massage by the pool. The breakfast at their restaurant was beyond explanation. It was so different yet phenomenal. Great spot.

Our family recently stayed here (3 kids; two teens and a 9-year-old). We had the Buddha bungalow and it was fantastic! Located about an hour and a half or less from LIR airport, the most notable experience we had here is the vibe of Pura Vida is built into everything. From the delicious the food they serve (thank you Chefs! Everything we ate was superb!), how spacious our unit was, and the gracious staff. Location was about 20 minutes from Tamarindo and about 40-60 from Playas Conchal and Flamingo). Playa Avellenas is a short-drive (like 5 mins) or a 16-20 min. walk. Great restaurants nearby and do please visit the Gelato next door! It really embraces a “chill” atmosphere and offers yoga twice a week, a small but great pool, a trampoline, and great little nooks to read a book, take a nap, or just be. The on-site small store carries a well-curated assortment of handmade Costa Rican products as well as name-brand ones.

Excelente atención, tanto en el restaurante como en el momento de nuestra llegada, llegamos temprano y nos dieron la habitación antes de la hora, el mantenimiento de las instalaciones es muy buena y la cercanía con la playa también, camas cómodas, y con muchas facilidad para una familia, la piscina con buen ambiente
