lovely quality hotel, room first class, everything you need, food lovely , loved the porridge with exmoor honey for breakfast- lots of choice here poached haddock a nice option, as well as the normal full english. dinners excellent, location first class a few yards from tarr steps. Beautiful having a drink before dinner overlooking tarr steps on a warm June evening

A lovely Pub with rooms, and an excellent base from which to explore Exmoor. Arriving mid-afternoon, we enjoyed a delightful, light lunch, and drinks in the Garden overlooking Tarr Steps. Check-in was stress free, and the room was lovely (accepting that the walls between rooms are seemingly quite thin). Dinner on both nights was excellent, as was the service throughout our stay. A good choice at Breakfast too, and well cooked. Would definitiely stay again.

Absolutely beautiful place! The restaurant itself is cosy and quaint. The food was excellent - enjoyed everything we ordered and found that the dessert menu especially was pleasantly adventurous with flavours. The staff were also very lovely. We will definitely be back!
